Pete Ittersagen had his pro day workout and you can see it here on youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yu2uY_8Z2HI

He was 5'10" and 189 lbs. His numbers seemed to be pretty good. Here is where he ranks with the top 30 corners at this years combine:

40 yd dash 4.47-54.51 4th-13th
bench press 18 reps at 225lbs 11th
3-cone drill 6.6 seconds  2nd
20 yd shuttle 4.32 seconds 24th
broad jump 9'10" 23rd
vertical jump 37" 10th
his 60 yd shuttle isn't listed or shown for some reason.

These are pretty good numbers. I wouldn't be shocked to see someone take him in the 7th round and would be shocked if he didn't end up in a camp somewhere this summer. He will get his shot I am sure.

Just for comparison, here are Andy Studebaker's numbers from his pro day before last years draft:

40 yd dash  4.6
3 cone drill  6.81
20 yd shuttle 4.14 seconds
broad jump  10' 7"
vertical jump 36.5"
60 yd shuttle 11.59

That doesn't mean Ittersagen was bad it just shows what a freak Studebaker is at 6'4" 255 lbs. This league doesn't see guys like Andy Studebaker very often.

I just saw on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pVAFqAQ0Esthat) Pete Ittersagen had a 2nd pro day at Northern Illinois on March 27th. He significantly improved some of his results. Here are his new results and where he ranks with all the corners from the NFL combine:

40 Yd dash 4.39-4.42  1st
Bench press 18 reps  11th
3 cone drill 6.6 seconds  2nd
20 yd "pro" shuttle 4.19 12th
Broad Jump 10' 1"  17th
vertical jump 37.5" 9th

His much improved 40 time makes him the fastest player in the pool of players to be drafted at cornerback. I would say the 2 most important tests from a combine/pro day are the 40 time and the pro shuttle and Ittersagen is 1st and 2nd of all corners in those two drills. I think that signifcantly improves the chances of him getting drafted on draft day. I see him going in the 6th or 7th round similar to Studebaker last year.

Mr. Ypsi

Of the five 'contests' reported for both, Ittersagen BEAT Studebaker on three.  Good luck to them both!

And, as a fan of a competitor, thank you for graduating! ;D

Sounds like Ittersagen was "lucky".   :P ;D

Disclaimer: For those who didn't follow last season, this is a tongue-n-cheek comment based on some posters who questioned Pete's ability and referred to him as "lucky" and is not in anyway a reflection on my view of his ability.

Wow, that is great news for Ittersagen.  I am still skeptical that he will be drafted but I would say these numbers get him into camp.  I also think it helps him that Studebaker made a team last year.  They are in a similar boat.  By that I mean they are both from the same small school, both had serious injuries and have bounced back, both tested well per their postion, and have the same agent.  I sure hope he gets a fair shake, we all know the instincts he has on the field.  I would love to see him light up some punt returner this fall!

On a different topic...
I heard Wheaton could be switching to a 3-4 defense.  With the graduation of 9 starters this may be the year to switch but this makes me nervous for the season.  A new defensive scheme along with a new OC, lots of changes for the Thunder.  I hope Swider and Co. know what they are doing!  Can't wait for fall!

Yes Wheaton has some adjustments to make... loss of many key players on defense and loss of OC.

I haven't heard about the change of defensive scheme, but if they do, Swider and the staff are more than capable of coaching through the adjustment.  I'm confident "they know what they are doing."  You don't have the success they have had over the past 15-20 years without being an excellent coaching staff.

Please forgive this cross-post (I posted this over on the lacrosse boards), but just wanted to mention the fantastic lacrosse game that took place early yesterday evening.  Hope defeated Wheaton 17-13 in the first game of Wheaton's Annual "Holy Wars" Lacrosse Tournament @ Wheaton.  My sources inform me that Wheaton's team is tops in their league and Hope had to hang on for their lives for the win after getting out to a 10 goal lead early.  This was a huge win for the Hope program (as was the win against U of Mich-Dearbon last weekend), some comparing it (almost) to last year's win against Ferris State University (DII), which was probably the biggest win in the history of Hope's lacrosse program.  Anyway, play resumes in the tournament today at Wheaton.

Speaking of history, I also commented in the same "posting" over on the lacrosse boards about Hope's lacrosse history (when they played "way back when" in my time there.  Some of my Hope College football teams were the founders of Hope's lacrosse program/team and on their Spring Break trip, they went south and played U of Mich, Ohio State and even Clemson - yes Clemson!  Of course they got their tails kicked but you should see those photos that one of my Hope College football teammates sent (he was our ALLl-MIAA QB and one of the founders of the lacrosse team) - the rented RV camper. this before today's modern passenger vans that the college allows them to use, those short shorts, long hair, etc.  ;D ::) :P).  Anyway, some great photos and great memories.

Again, sorry about this lacrosse post here on the fb board, but I thought you guys might enjoy hearing about this, especially you Wheaton fans.  Besides, it is the off-season! ;D  Also, I would just add...guess if we can't beat your Wheaton team in fb, at least we pulled off the win in lacrosse!! :D ;)

Do you know what school?  Our oldest daughter (a recent college grad and newly wed :D) teaches 2nd grade in a nice eastern suburb of Atlanta in one of their largest school districts (Gwinnett County).  Just curious.

USee:

Thanks for the info.  I'll ask our daughter about it.  They live about 3 miles away in Snellville near the famed Stone Mountain State Park (which has the "Confederate Mount Rushmore") and teaches in Logansville about 9 miles away.  However, she and new hubby will be moving to Lawrenceville in July to some "new digs".

Anybody have info on a recruit from Highland Park High School by the name of Courtney
Frison. He is a running back and has made a commitment to play at MUC. No letter of intent just a desire to compete on the football team.
Could he be the next Nate Kmic? :o or maybe close.  ;) There is really no replacing Nate.
Mount does not usually draw from ILL area so it would be interesting to get some perspective from the area on this recruit.

Thanks.
