Seems to me that Wheaty really hates NCC for some reason,....Personally I wouldn't mind seeing them sometime in the playoff sjust so we can beat them again and all the NCC posters will quit complaining about bad calls and weather!

BWA

No complaints here Augie 2000.  NCC did not do what they needed to win, and Augie did.  NCC should have never put themselves in the situation that they were in at the end of the game.  That being said,  I think if these two teams meet 10 times, NCC wins 7 of them.

Are you saying this year's NCC would beat this year's Augie team 7/10 times??? I think it would be maybe 50/50 at best. It's great that NCC has improved greatly, but last year was the first time in almost 30 years that NCC beats Augie and now you think they can win 7/10? The only way I see that happening is if all 10 games were at NCC.

FormerCard

AugieDogie,

If all 10 games were at NCC,  it would 10/10.  I know you dont agree and we could sit here and jaw back and forth about who has more talent.  Augie executed their game plan perfectly, except the few turnovers.  NCC did not.  My question is what kind of drink was that Augie player hammering at midfield?  Jager? Captain?  His dad must not have had much fun as he could have if he had some left over.

Formercard heres the deal lets each take care of our own for now ok.  If you want to bring up old stories lets talk about an obvious late hit that was stupid.  And radtke's poor sports menship as well.  Personally i think that everything needs to die about the game.  It was great leave it at that.  Everyone needs to stop ragging on the others players. And i would completely disagree with you about if augie and ncc had 10 meetings i think augie would win 7 or 8 out of 10.  We absolutely roled you except for one tournover you caused and 2 we caused ourselves.  With out the 2 tournovers we caused ourselves the last second filed goal wouldn't be needed and augie wins by 14 so.  I really disagree with your comment.  Plus what does having a drink have to do with playing a game?

Umm... not sure anyone can get off to a worse start than RedBus did this past summer.  Whew... little anger in the boy!  I believe he lasted about 15 posts.

Funny that you would bring that up.  I was still lurking at the time and decided to wait a bit to sign up because of that poster, if I remember correctly.

who is this redbus you speak of? i'm interested in hearing the background. sounds like an interesting summer.
You win! You always do!

Pat,

If you were a betting man, what is the percentage chance NC will get the pool C bid if they beat North Park this weekend?

95.

I know you cant be sure, but if NC wins vs. NP this weekend, and Augie Beats Wheaton, what are the chances of NC getting a home game in the 1st round?

50-50

Also, if NC wins and Wheaton upsets Augie, will NC get a home game and do we have a chance of getting 3 in the postseason?

Home game? Probably 60/40. Three teams? 0%. Reflect back on Wheaton's non-conference opponents for a second. There are many other two-loss teams -- I'm thinking of some in Ohio -- I'd take ahead of Wheaton basd on the résumé.

i really can't imagine ncc as a pool C being seeded ahead of the AQ from the same conference, even if augie has 2 losses.

It can happen. Regional rankings forecast it in the South:

3. Mary Hardin-Baylor 5-1 6-1
...
7. Hardin-Simmons 6-1 7-1

Easy Big Augievike,  I wasnt getting on his case, I was just curious thats all.  I think many players would love a drink after the game and I was wondering what wonderful beverage he chose.  In regards to the game, yes, you beat us, we established that on page 112.  We did not play well that game.  I am hoping that these two teams get to hookup in the playoffs. (which you will respond "so we can beat you again")  There was probably some poor sportmanship I would imagine from the Cardinals.  As a fan, I couldnt even move I was so disappointed, I am sure as a player it was much worse and emotions got the best of them.  You don't often see the good in some players immediately after a tough loss.  I will continue to hold to my thought that NCC would win 7/10 against Augie.

Next topic..   would you spell it roled  (in previous post)  or rolled?   I am not sure, any takers?

Thanks for your insight.  I will take a 60/40 chance over a 50/50 chance any day.    Go Wheaton

The "drink" of choice is some Cardinal RED KOOLAID that many posters have started to drink proclaiming how great NCC is.  Perfect quote from the NCC website,   North Central College has waited 44 years for a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin title; and the Cardinals will probably have to wait one more after losing 20-17 to Augustana College".  What makes NCC that good that they would win 10 straight times against Augie when they have an overall winning % of less than 30%  against the Vikings. NCC has improved greatly over the past couple of years, but to make comments that they would win every game is just pure ignorance.

pat c- opining on the playoffs...it is the best time of year. thanks pat. looking forward to watching you on espn on the selection show sunday

Augie Dogie,

As ignorant as it sounds, I do not think that NCC would lose to Augie at home, Augie beat them this time, and hopefully they get to go at it again!  That being said, you are an outstanding d3football.com poster.  How is Weslayen going to be next year?

The reactions on this site to the outcome of the Augie/NCC game were pretty ridiculous.  I thought (or at least hoped) we had moved past it.  Now you guys want to rehash who had a drink on the field, who's a poor sport or to go back and forth about who could beat who over 10 games?  Who cares.  Augie won, period.  Whether NCC didn't play well (which if they didn't there's usually a reason, it's called the other team), Augie got some breaks from the refs, or whatever the reason, the final score was Augie 20 - NCC 17.  At this point, Augie fans should be focused on Wheaton and NCC on NP.  What's important now for both teams is taking care of business this weekend and going into the playoffs on a high note.  If, by some chance, Augie and NCC meet in the playoffs, you guys can start going back and forth about who has class, who would win 7/10 games, etc.  Until then, let's give it a rest.
