Son of Tailgater

I came across another team that fell victim to the bone head play of the week. This is a high school game in Michigan, unbelievable.

Just saw this not more than 10 minutes before you posted.  What's going on this year?

Are bonehead plays of this nature more common, or is it just the ability to disperse to a wider audience via Facebook, YouTube, etc...

I would have to say they are becoming more available because of the internet sharing capability. It seems like these are smaller more remote schools that wouldn't even make ESPN or local news unless you lived in that town.

Actually John Glenn and Canton are two of the biggest high schools in the state of MI.  Pretty good football.   ;D

I have to disagree just a little with your comment. We can't really say that anyone has stepped up to fill in for Wenger or Sulu, and now Champion. NCC has yet to play a team with an offense that will test them (since ONU). We'll see a little bit of a test this weekend with Carthage and then the big test on the 24th against  Wheaton. Let's not be premature.

If ONU is the best offense that NCC has seen to date, that explains the margins of victory.  In my less than professional opinion, ONU is very good defensively, but very average on O.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Mr. Flynn

They were average on offense, they only had 16 yards rushing until Wenger was hurt.  After that point ONU ran the ball down their throat.

I think it's just flat hilarious that NCC fans are all giddy about putting up 80+ on NPU.

I think it's just flatter hilarious that NCC fans are upset about not moving up the rankings after putting up 80+ against NPU.

And yes, I'm ready for my negative karma hit for trying to stir the pot...

I think there's only a couple that fall into that category, and they are the newer ones here. The veterans know that nothing matters until the 24th. This week should be a more competitive game too. Being in the Top 10 in nice, but the Regional Rankings are more important since those mirror the actual playoff selections better. NCC has set several team records this season, but it won't matter unless NCC retains the Bell.

Where on here do you see alot of NC fans "giddy" on here after putting up 80 on NP?

I was pretty happy about going to Decatur and winning 58-0 against a 3-0 team that the following week went to Weslayen and beat them 19-13.    I guess you can say that makes me a little....how did you put it..."giddy"

I have to admit that I had to go back and also look for anyone that was "giddy" over the North Park game.  I actually find it an embarrassment to go out and score that many points against a program that is hopefully going to get better some day.   I agree with Former Card that going to Millikin, who we all heard such great things about, and whipping them down there was a feel good moment.    Carthage will provide a strong test to see just how good we really are.  Enjoy your Karma hit!   8)

And I could care less about the rankings.  WIn every game from here on out and the rankings take care of themselves.

I'm hoping, but not so certain Carthage will be a true barometer as to how good NCC is  ??? While the RedMen's offense has certainly proven that they have the talent to put a lot of points on the board, the RedMen defense has made it necessary for them to do so. They are undersized on the defensive front in comparison to most O-lines they face and will need to rely on quickness to be effective in disrupting plays and pressuring NCC' s QB to make mistakes. They just don't seem to be able to stay away from giving up big plays. While they had a good third down conversion ratio against Elmhurst last week, 3 of the 5 third downs converted were from 10 yds to go and more. I fear that NCC and Carthage will end up being a scoring shoot out. Carthage won that fight against Elmhurst, but were seriously out drawn against IWU. I've got my fingers crossed that the Carthage D is ready to make a statement tomorrow.

Does anyone know if Millikin has live stats? I can't seem to find it on their website.

To be honest, I'm a little nervous about today's game for the Thunder, especially coming off the big win last week against Augie. Millikin showed last week that they are capable of being a team that you can't sleep on, and as much as I credit Wheaton's resolve in pulling out a couple of close games against tough opponents and would like to believe in them, until they stop letting teams hang with them and can put away a quality team authoritatively, like North Central did to Millikin, I remain reserved in my optimism. Hopefully though, today will be the day they prove me wrong for doubting and start looking like the #4 team in the country.

At the bottom of the football page under fan zone they have live stats and a live radio feed for the game. i think alot will depend on whether Hockaday plays today or not. They are a different team with him at QB

WahooThunder

Thanks, oldnuthin. I was very impressed by Hockaday's non-conference play. Hopefully he'll be able to suit up today.

I expect to see a lot of points, but I don't think the final score will be as close as last year. The NCC offense has started fast in every game. So, if Carthage wins the coin toss, don't defer. Thorne loves to start on offense.
