Mr. Ypsi

Wow!  I picked Augie, but figured it would be another nail-biter!

Based on past history, I may yet be!  (I hope so - on OAC pickems they were giving Wheaton 10.5 points, so I picked Wheaton there!)

augievike93

Augie stopped Wheaton, now they have the ball at their own 28.

I love how the WETN announcers are talking about how it is tough for Augie to pick up the 1st down on a 3rd and 5.  They talked about the limited offence because 3rd and 5 is "normally" a passing down.  Heck,  3rd and 15 is a running down for Augie and if they don't make it, they get it darn close.

35-0, NCC, 11 minutes left in the 3rd Quarter. Sounds like Augie was ready to play.

Augie just threw for the first time today to start the 4th quarter...looks like they have that fewest pass attempts for the season record all but wrapped up.

augievike93

Patterson punts the ball into the Wheaton 7.

1st and 10 Thunder

Youngbauer intercepts...the Viking D's third pick of the day.  Augie starts deep in Wheaton's territory.

Mr. Ypsi

The scoreboard has Carthage 24, Elmhurst 14 half way through the third - anyone have anything later?

The scoreboard has no report at all on Millikin-IWU - anyone?

No real surprise on NCC-NP, but I'm rather surprised at the margin of Augie-Wheaton (and would NOT be surprised if it tightened - seems like it always does!)

Or NOT - just saw augievike93's post on the interception!

augievike93

Evidently Chupp left the game earlier with a separated shoulder.

augievike93

Augie wins 28-7.

Congrats to J. R. Bishop on a great career.

Congrats also to Coach Barnes and this team of Vikings who have gotten a win against the team that has had their number since Barnes came to town.  It takes an awful lot to finish with an undefeated CCIW season (and they were only 1 point away from a perfect regular season).  It is good to see that Vikes are back on top.  I love playoff football in Rock Island!
