CardAlum is obviously a closet Wheaton Fan!

Only when they don't play NCC.  I have huge respect for Mike Swider! (even though I make fun of his hair!)  I admire that his teams consistently are well prepared and play hard.  I definitely root for them except for this week!

hmmm....I never thought of that...maybe I'm not?  8-)

Well I do know for a fact that CardinalAlum is a rabid White Sox fan (as am I) and would never think of rooting for the Cubs under any condition.

Perhaps his correspondence on this board with Wheaton alum has muted his out right loathing of all that is Wheaton to the point where he can actually root for them on rare occassions.   ::)

I can put CardinalAlum in touch with numerous NPU alumni who are capable of deprogramming him. Give us a call, CardinalAlum, and we'll fix that mute button for you. ;)

Ok, Greg.  Theoretical situation: NPU and IWU are tied for the final spot to the CCIW Basketball Tourney.  They split during the season each winning on the other's floor.  Victories and losses to the same exact teams by identical margins in the same locations.  NPU has already held serve with a victory.  Wheaton v IWU.  Do you root for Wheaton then?

Mr. Ypsi

Since USee brought in my name when talking about pickems, I do find it amusing that I am currently tied for the lead overall in CCIW Pickems (and alone in first on the CCIW conference games only portion of it).  I have seen one-half of one CCIW conference game since 1969. :o ;D

(But note to USee - that one-half game was less than a month ago.  It was only one half because the opponent was NPU, the game was over by halftime, and I went to see the then #3 nationally ranked Titan women's soccer game instead. ;))

As much I as I have an affinity to Coach Swider and his team,  I don't see Wheaton winning this game.

Just as I don't see how guys are picking Elmhurst to beat Augie Saturday.  I was 2 months in the making the last time Elmhurst defeated Augie.

Sure, but I'll feel like I need to take a shower afterwards.

Aw, Greg, I know you're a secret 'green' fan. :D  You'd still root against the Sonic Atmospheric Disturbance and put your faith in the coin flip! 8-)

(Fortunately, I doubt this scenario is very plausible for this year!)

It is Tuesday...and the hype is starting to pick up.   I am extending my congratulations to the Thunder and Cardinals for taking care of business up until this point to set up the biggest CCIW conference matchup in a long time.  This is a debate for all to take part in.  What was the biggest CCIW matchup in the last 10 years?

8-0 #5 North Central  vs 8-0 #15 Wheaton

North Region Rankings...  #1 Wheaton vs #2 North Central

It doesn't get much better than this...It is going to be a great game..Weather looks to be sunny with a high of 53 degrees and low of 33.

My prediction is NC  31   Wheaton 17

I'm a fan of seven green things, Chuck, and none of them are a secret:

1. vegetables (cooked, please)
2. Kermit the Frog
3. trees (hooray for oxygen!)
4. The Reverend Al Green
5. grass (as long as somebody else is cutting it)
6. Gail Borst's eyes (first girl I ever kissed)
7. small rectangular slips of paper with pictures of George Washington, Abe Lincoln, U.S. Grant, Ben Franklin, etc., on them

Aside from that, it's a totally wretched color.

It's not plausible at all, because NPU will play IWU in Bloormal in the last game of the regular season for the Vikings. (IWU will have one more game after that, versus Augie three days later, a game that was moved back in the schedule at Augie's request.)

Other interesting notes from Elmhurst game:

Llavac did not play
Valente Garza did not start and played minimally
Werkheiser started at OT instead of Thrun (who started in most of the games so far)
Willie Hayes was back after not dressing for IWU game

Hmmmmmm, saving guys or tweaking the lineup?  Interesting notes, USee.

no shocker that nothing changed at the top of the north region other than case western falling to 8th and trine moving up  to 5...the interesting thing is in the east...how long can an undefeated SUNY-Maritime stay buried in the region rankings before you have the possibility of an undefeated team playing on the road in the first round because Mount Union or even Wesley gets shipped east and they are forced down the food chain?
You win some, you lose some, and sometimes it rains.

Undefeated or not, Maritime should be thanking their lucky stars that they're even in the field at all.
