Ff413-

I agree w you again. As you pointed out elsewhere it makes no sense that the NCAA put UWW #2 but leapfrogged UMU over NCC last week. Also, if they are being strictly criteria focused, the NCC/UWW bracket should be ahead of the UMU bracket because NCC is still stronger than UMU for the same reason they ranked them ahead of UWW. Very inconsistent.
I love it when you agree with me, Usee, it makes me feel so smart!   :D
Ya, the East bracket is clearly stronger than our little old North bracket............geeez........... ::)

And this isn't a matter of "D3 is turning into ...", either. The NCAA has been using pre-established criteria in selecting and seeding its D3 tournaments for many years now.

Except UWW and Mount Union have never had the best SOS. Yet they've always been a No. 1 seed. Therein lies the tub.

Congratulations to Wheaton for making the playoffs.  Coe seems to be a clone of the IL. Wesleyan offense.
A lot of bubble screens with good blocking on the db.  Other types of shorter passes including late throws to the rb.  Single back runs up the middle using various delay and counter tactics.  Good luck to Coe on scouting the Wheaton offense.  Right now nobody but the Coaches knows what their going to run after the past two weeks.

Seriously? Every Wheaton fan needs to pat North Central on the back?

Have you seen the Thundercat offense Wheaton used for half the game against Milikin? ;D :P

Certainly mean no disrespect to NC or the CCIW in terms of the level of upset here in WIAC country today.  Congrats on a great season.  Would it be controversial to suggest that  maybe Mt Union should be a #2 instead of UWW?  I mean, if we're throwing out the past, let's go whole hog.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Pat,

This is the time of year where the conference backs the playoff bound teams.  I guess some people, you included, don't understand that.   Lighten up.

NCC is a good team and I'd rank them like Linfield last year, a clear number 3/4 (st thomas would challange them on that). The difference we have now will be one pissed UWW coming in to Naperville, with a whole pack of angry UWW fans to back them up. While I felt UWW would win before, I feel this will give them another touchdown or two victory. Though as they say "any given saturday" I feel UWW will be the clear favorite in this one and prove they should have had the number one seed.

I 200% understand that. But you don't need to go begging for congrats. You got the trophy.

Since the second regional rankings for the North had #1 Wheaton, #2 NCC, #3 UMU, and NCC proceeded to dismantle Wheaton (28-6), followed by UMU jumping to #1, I daresay there are many who would agree! ;D

I suspect essentially everyone here is shocked that UMU and UWW are not both #1 seeds.

BUT, by the published criteria (which don't include what you did last year), what argument can you really make that THIS year UWW deserves a #1 any MORE than 10-0 St. Thomas or 10-0 NCC?

The ole "one team is really angry" situation.  Always huge.

Now, what if the NCC players 1) get really fired up over all the suggestions that UWW got screwed, and 2) want to prove they do in fact deserve the #1 seed?

Does the "pissed off" factor then become a push?

NCC had a conference game this year where they successfully employed the pissed off strategy, so they have experience with it...not sure if UWW does.  Could be a factor.

Oh, easy, Jedi, We are actually a pretty friendly bunch and I sure won't be angry, the Bloody Mary's will ensure that, but the Wahawks.......well, can't speak for them.  ;D  ;)

Mr Ypsi, check out the WIAC board, Pat and 96 came up with some, "subjective," common opponent  scores that can be used to make just that case.

I didn't mean angry to the people, just angry in general lol. If we represent we might be able to outcheer the home crowd!  :P
