As a bit of CCIW related news, living in San Antonio, I'm looking forward to catching a couple games this year in the inaugural football season of the UTSA Roadrunners.  The Roadrunners are coached by Larry Coker, previously head coach at the University of Miami, and the defensive coordinator is Wheaton alum Neal Nethery.  Need to study the schedules, but perhaps I can hit a double header some Saturday with Trinity and UTSA.  Although, this probably sounds like a much better idea to me than my girlfriend.  Man, I'm sure gonna miss her.......

Movie devildog will need to watch with girlfriend to make up for doubleheader Saturday listed here

Did some checking for you devildog, looks like your only option is going to be on September 10.  UTSA plays McMurry at 1 PM and Trinity plays Texas Lutheran at 7 PM.  There are other dates that both teams are in San Antonio, but they play either at the same time or within an hour or so of each other.

And the Bears open up the next day against the Falcons.  Sounds like a perfect weekend.

From Chiefs training camp:

Quote- Andy Studebaker turned in the closest thing to a quarterback sack that most will ever see at an NFL training camp. Coming off the edge on an unevaded path toward QB Tyler Palko, Studebaker was unable to break off his route and laid a thud on the untouchable position. The defense cheered. Coach Haley did not.
Whoopsie...   :P

I was an OLB, so I see nothing wrong with Andy's behavior.  "Ah... coach, I'm color blind.  I didn't realize his jersey was yellow."

Any scoop on NCC so far?  Before I make my prediction that they will be the team to break the purple stranglehold on the Stagg, I need some camp scoop.

It sounds like Andy's holding his own as the #1 opposite Tamba Hali for now. The article is about the chiefs 3rd rd pick out of Georgia at OLB. But it acknowledges that he's still buried in the depth chart.

It sounds like Studebaker and this rookie couldn't be more different. One is a DIII grinder, with high character, getting everything he can from his opportunities. The other is an SEC standout, with major character concerns and tons of natural talent that he may or may not actually live up to.

DIII connection aside, I know which one I'd be pulling for.

Any word or update on Ittersagen and the Titans?

I always thought Andy had the heart of a lion and only knew 1 speed- full throttle.
Emma17-While NC is going to be strong, I do think they will face some quality teams this year, and it won't be a pushover all year.  I think they have the capabilities to get to the Final 4, but seeing it on paper and getting there are two different things. We haven't seen a Final 4 team since the 80's.  Perhaps this will be the year, but again  there is a long road (for any team) to get there.
BTW- I like your screen name.   My daughter is Emma and she is 17 mos. old.

Then a plus k for you on the name (I just received my karma authority so I'm a bit excited).
I'm a UWW guy through and through.  However, I am an IL resident and have followed IL high school football for a long time.  Why do you care?  I'm sure you don't.  My point is, I watched Coach Thorne build a championship program while at WW South (I was at the game they beat Joliet Catholic in the championship) and I believe he will build a champion at NCC.  That's not to say Wheaton or another CCIW team doesn't have a chance (Wheaton especially given the hotbed of HS talent), but NCC is close.  I thought they were the 2nd best team in the country last year.  Losing the beast middle linebacker will hurt- he counted as 1 1/2 defenders.
