North Central will win their first game by three touchdowns and will beat Wabash by two touchdowns.

You really shouldn't be drinking on a Monday night.   One game at a time......

It's OK for the fans.  Just so the coaches aren't doing it! ;D

Sometimes it's the coaches that might need to do it! :D

When you are a Bears fan and the Packers play on Monday night, sometimes you need 1 or 2 to calm the nerves. The success the state of Wisconsin is having is becoming quite bothersome  ;D. I don't know what would have happened if the Brewers won the world series, the Packers won the Super Bowl, the Badgers won the Big 10, and UWW won the Stagg. That is too much Wisconsin for this Chicagoan's liking  8-).

Busy day Saturday, too, around Shirk Center and Wilder Field at Tucci Stadium.  Big IWU Invitational Swim meet that day as well in Shirk, Fort Pool.  Parking could be tight.  Tail-gating at IWU is usually in the lots directly east of the Wilder Field/Tucci Stadium.  Also some in the lots on the SE corner of the Stadium, directly East of the Shirk Center.  There's more parking further south near the Theta Chi House, and also in lots directly East of the Hansen Student Center.  It will be busy and full that day.  Men and women basketball teams are playing that day, too, but both are away:  the men to Jacksonville, IL. and the women in Wisconsin.

Good luck to the Titans vs. Monmouth and also to NCC.  Make some noise CCIW!!!

IWU70

Like IWU70 said, there are plenty of places to get the important part of the day started. Usually the IWU families are in the parking lot directly east of the field. I have seen most of the visitors use the lot across Emerson St near Theta Chi and the Hanson Student Center.

iwu70 & A.A.T. - thanks for the info.  Since we're only 90 miles away, I suspect there'll be a nice group there on Saturday morning.

IMO Dubuque is significantly more dangerous than St. Norberts.  Dubuque likley isn't a team that can go toe to toe physically, but they can do real well in a track meet.  They put up serious points against a conference of pretty good teams.  I would caution against reading too much into the close score with Auggie.

St. Norbert was an #8 seed. Dubuque expected to be a #4 or #5, and thought they had a chance at a home game. Dubuque is significantly better than St. Norberts. I surprised emma didn't write that the head coach, Stan Zweifel, formerly was the Offensive Coordinator at UWW. Their best receiver is the coach's son and he has gaudy stats. The QB threw for 42 TDs - Wheaton's Garrett Meador (CCIW OPOY?) threw for just 28, for comparison. They also have a running back who had 1200+ yards rushing. Should be a good test for the defense.

The Dubuque running back, Justin Spaulding, was also a WARHAWK before transfering there.

The Dubuque running back, Justin Spaulding, was also a WARHAWK before transfering there.

Did Spaulding leave with Zweifel in 2010 or before?

emma17

Wow, defense is loaded with NC kids- DB's everywhere.  NC hogging the tight end spots on first and second teams as well.

This list reminded me of what I noticed when I attended the NC - Wheaton game, the NC Oline isn't particularly big this year.  Is this a big difference from last year?

badgerwarhawk

Stan Zweifel left in 2007 and after stops at UW-RF (very brief),  Beloit Memorial HS (AD) and MSU-Mankato (OC) became head coach at Dubuque in 2009.  Spaulding was on the WARHAWKS' roster in 2008 and transfered to Dubuque in 2009.

Very very confused at the omission of Jordan Langs from the all conference selections

Can anyone tell me how the CCIW has done in the playoffs the past 10 years or so against teams NOT from the OAC or WIAC?  From what I can recall, it's pretty darn-tootin' good.

It's from this perspective that I felt that IWU was the recipient of a rather nice playoff draw for 2011.  Not trying to discount any upcoming opponents, but anytime you can be bracketed NOT with MUC or UWW, that automatically increases your chances for a deep run in the playoffs.

However, from everything I'm reading about this QB Tanney (and I'll admit, from watching his trick video on YouTube), this guy seems like he's going a tall task for IWU.  I hope the titans can contain him and continue a pretty good CCIW run against all teams not purple.

Off the top of my head I can remember last year Wheaton losing to Bethel, which Is their only playoff loss to anyone but Mt Union (0-6 in Alliance). NCC lost to Franklin in 2008 (Wheaton beat Franklin subsequently). That may be all. NCC lost to Capital 2 times (OAC), Carthage lost at Mt Union, Millikin lost at ONU, Augie lost at Mt Union, and IWU lost at UWW ( and at Alliance in 1996).

We have playoff wins over Wabash 2x, Baldwin Wallace, Coe, Franklin, Trine, Hope, Witt, St Norberts, Concordia, Wi and Alma.

Jordan Langs was the best defensive back Wheaton had this year. McMullen was banged up a lot of the year. I am very surprised not to see Langs on either team.
