Rain is the great equalizer!  How will it affect the Wheatie passing game?  This weather has to favor the Bluebirds.  Could be interesting.

NCC @ NPU may be delayed slightly due to the Thorguard (the lightning-detection alarm) going off at Holmgren Athletic Complex about a half-hour ago. The game should start as close to 1 pm as possible, but if the Thorguard goes off again once the game starts, the CCIW's official lightning protocol takes over and there will be a lengthy delay regardless. Lightning safety is nothing to joke about.

Elmhurst leading 21-10 at the half.

Elmhurst offense is doing whatever they please.  266 yards offense in 1st half, 9.5 yards per play.  Williams brothers with 20 carries for 147 yards rushing (Scottie with 118) and 3 TD's.  Furco is 5 of 5 for 106 yards.

Wheaton offense is playing well, 210 yards in the half (160 rushing), but Wheaton D is a no-show (or Elmhurst offense is playing stellar).

Wheaton D better make some adjustments or it will be a long day.

Big play of the half:  Elmhurst leading 14-10.  Roberts completes 17 yard pass to Elmhurst 24.  Elmhurst forces fumble and returns it 45 yards to Wheaton 31.  5 plays later a 9 yard Josh Williams run puts Elmhurst up by 11.  Big turnaround.

Wheaton turnovers continue to plague them.  Against top CCIW teams that will lead to certain losses.

That's rare, in this game at least.  Elmhurst with a 3 and out.

Elmhurst punted from their 14, 37 yard punt, returned 18 yards.  Wheaton drive starts on Elmhurst 33.

Another 27 yard TD pass from Roberts to Hiben (after a 60 yard Roberts to Hiben pass on 1st drive of the half) and just like that Wheaton leads 24-21.

Guessing Roberts will be the man from here on out?

It would appear.  Don't know if Meador was injured last week however.

Elmhurst answers the 2 quick Wheaton TD's with a 10 play 55 yard drive.  Elmhurst leading 28-24.  Quite a game.  But re-enforcing that Wheaton & Elmhurst are not at NCC's level given how easily they dispatched of Elmhurst.

NCC 58
NPU 17

This one went about as expected. NPU did have some nice drives against the Cards' first team, and Jon Williams had a much better afternoon as QB in place of the injured Tyler Krebs than he had last week, but there wasn't nearly enough offense for NPU to keep up with the Cardinals juggernaut. Hat tip to Matt Hassan as well, who actually had a much more successful day as a receiver than as a rusher. Trying to run the ball up the gut against the NCC defense is an unpleasant proposition for anyone.

NCC just has amazing speed and depth, especially at running back. After having seen both teams the past two weeks, I'd have to say that North Central is better than Illinois Wesleyan by a healthy margin. Not to say that the Titans can't pull off the upset, but I see NCC as being about two touchdowns better.

57 yard pick 6 for Elmhurst and as quickly as Wheaton took lead after trailing 21-10, Elmhurst now leads 35-24.  Huge play.

Only Roberts 2nd INT of the year against 18 TD's.  I'm not watching video, but would be interested if the ball as tipped or just a bad pass, not that it matters too much.
