To underscore Usee's on-point analysis of the playoff scenarios, check out D3's "Mock" Regional Rankings for the North:

1. Mount Union, 7-0, .439 (188th), defeated Franklin
2. North Central, 6-1, .538 (69th), defeated Elmhurst
3. Concordia-Chicago, 7-0, .603 (20th), no results vs. RRO.
4. Wabash, 4-1, .584 (32nd), defeated Wittenberg, Carnegie Mellon (non-region game).
5. Ohio Wesleyan, 7-0, .483 (130th), defeated Carnegie Mellon.
6. Elmhurst, 6-1, .590 (29th), lost to North Central, defeated Wheaton.
7. Heidelberg, 7-0, .371 (224th of 229), no results vs. RRO.
8. Franklin, 5-1*, .444 (183rd), lost to Mount Union.
9. Wittenberg, 6-1, .514 (93rd), lost to Wabash.
10. Wheaton, 5-2, .551 (55th), lost to Elmhurst.

The bubble: Illinois Wesleyan, Baldwin Wallace. Extended bubble: Adrian, Albion, Otterbein, Hanover.

The last 3 weeks in the CCIW should be very entertaining -  very cool that we have 4 teams still in the mix this late in the season!

Elmhurst has been the beneficiary of lady luck and injuries suffered to Wheaton and now IWU.  I don't think anybody other than a few kool-aiders at Elmhurst expected them to be where they are now.  I will be the first to admit, I am pleasantly stunned to see them here.  The IWU clash will be their toughest opponent still on the slate, but unless IWU can get their new QB up to par, I think the edge (on paper) has to go to Elmhurst.

Hoosier Redman- We (EC) know all too well about streaks that don't favor our team.  Some of the series histories (notably AC/IWU/MU) have dominated in time by the opposition.  Nice to see that since the Journell era, many of these streaks and bad tastes have been nullified.

And to compliment your other thought- sometimes knowing a member of your team or coaching staff is unhealthy and not available, is the BEST MOJO to get you inspired and play for that person.

IWU-NCC game tomorrow is, I believe, a 2 p.m. kickoff, due to NCC Homecoming.  Is there a video link for the game?  Please advise.

Jaybird, I'm still of the view that IWU will handle EC in the final game of the season.  Yes, we've had injuries, yes, we have a very tough game tomorrow, but I'm still of the mind that the Titans will rise to the occasion of the last game of the season and win @EC.  I'm hoping for 8-2 and of course, if we are very very keyed up, play very very well tomorrow and pull off the upset, then 9-1, winning out.  It will be tough, esp. tomorrow.  I'm sure Norm and Company have come up with a good plan to adjust the offense and get the new personnel ready, in a good position to make a good game of it tomorrow at NCC.  Let's hope Bolden and Stinde are able to play, fully healthy, perform well.  Really still a bitter loss with Gallik going down like that.  Very sad, very unlucky.

Yes, EC is having a surprising and exemplar season.  Williams is outstanding, no doubt.  But, I don't think it's going to have a happy ending for EC.  IMHO.

P.S.  Don't pound on NP too too much tomorrow.  They've had enough this season already.  :)

Interested to see how the Thunder do today against MU.  The guys on the broadcast last week defined it as a trap game.  However, gotta believe that with no margin for error Swider & Co. Will have them ready to go.  I think a big question will be if the Thunder can jump out to a lead, something they haven't done well all season.  Also, will the turnover bug come into play again or will the Thunder be able to eliminate mistakes?

I think this game could be close. Mllikin is due  for a win. If Wheaton does jump out to an early lead, I think they win easily. I don't see Wheaton looking ahead and not taking care of business today.

Seems NC D might see several IWU QBs today, and something of a new offensive approach too.  Perhaps the freshman QB, Tyler Hook, will get his first true test at the varsity level.  I hope Stinde and Bolden are healthy, able to play at a high level.  IWU needs to be effective at stopping the NCC running game and limit TOs.

I'll be cheering for Millikin too . . . they surely deserve a CCIW win and why not today vs. WC? :)

Good luck to all the Titans.

GO TITANS!!!

I'm not sure we've seen a big difference between WC, IWU, EC, and MU. Millikin has taken IWU and Elmhurst to overtime. If Wheaton isn't completely focused, MU could surprise. I expect a close game.
