This is a game Elmhurst led 14-0 and could have won. Congrats to the Tommies for doing what they needed to secure the win. Joe Furco was off today. He missed 3 TD passes that I watched that would have changed the game dramatically. A great showing by the CCIW pool C team. Elmhurst with their first ever trip to the playoffs. Great job by Tim Lester.

Great job by Elmhurst today. Very impressed with their squad, they have the pieces in place to make a deep playoff run next year. Congrats on a good season.

Not to over simplify things, but this 1st half of Linfield/NCC game has turned on 3 sequences.  After a missed FG by NCC, Linfield goes on their one long drive of the day for an 80 yard TD drive - all through the air.

NCC goes on another long drive, mostly on the ground before a 73 yard pick 6 for Linfield.

Then NCC fumbles in their own territory, leading to the Linfield FG.

Not to take anything away from Linfield, as they've been opportunistic, but NCC is beating themselves.

Oh yeah... how could I forget the NCC fumble on 1st and goal from Linfield 3?

So proud of my Jays! Hard to have it end but again so proud!

Sorry to see NCC lose that way...I am sure this will feel far worse than last year...

But...I am also certain NCC will up the ante and continue to improve next year...

Congrats on a great season NCC---was fun (as a Cat fan) to see your guys play.  Your RB is a stud and your Defensive front is solid.  Hope those of you that made the trip had a good time in Oregon!

Propps to NCC. Your team is very talented, well coached and plays hard 'till the end. I was getting nervous there for a while in the 3rd quarter. Your QB was great and especially running back #32 was the best back I've seen play in a few years. I think we'll need a few ice packs after that game!

IMHO: Next year Wheaton will be heavily favored to win the CCIW.  Only losing 4 Sr's on defense and three on offense if Roberts comes back.  NCC loses their two key RB's QB and best defensive player.  I put Wheaton as a top 5 team next year.  IMHO IWU will be favored to finish second.

Good season NCC.  As hard as the loss is, I think you showed how much talent and potential you have.

Congratulations to the Cards and Jays.  They both had good seasons and I'm sure they will both be ready to have a big say in the CCIW next year.

Yeah, don't give away the damn ball!!  In 9 wins, they had 15 TOs; in 3 losses, they had 17 TOs!  Obviously opponents' defenses had something to say about that, but I thought about half of today's TOs were giveaways rather than takeaways.  Solve that and they will join the elite of d3 (they had many more total yards than Linfield today); don't solve it and they will always be on thin ice against good teams.

Still, sincere congratulations to the Cards and the Jays - I'd sure rather get to the second round of the playoffs than go from 6-0 to 6-4! :P
