I believe huge storm last week resulted in McCully Field being completely submerged by flood water (along with entire Billy Graham Center parking lot).  Went by this weekend and everything look back to normal other than debris (mud, sticks, etc...).

Not sure if there was any permanent damage.

Were Elmhurst facilities impacted given Elmhurst was hit harder by the rain and flooding?  I take Metra into the city and couldn't see any damage to campus.

Was at the stadium Saturday for track and everything looked good. North Central's field was also submerged, but the water receded very quickly.

My wife did not hold classes the day of the storm, but did resume the day after. York Road in Elmhurst looked like a river. Perhaps EC conditioning could be power swimming up and down the roads of Elmhurst? LOL

Other ways the Wheaton football team spends it's off season together.  This year the school president joined them on a trip to the Dominican Republic.

Wow Mugsy that is pretty cool. I also recall Jeff hosting/taking kids to Africa on mission/goodwill trips.  These are great experiences for the players.

Don't get too excited about any recruits until they actually come to camp (and stay with the team) and then  do something on the field.  ;)

That time of year again...here's what I rounded up this morning for incoming North Central recruits:

Brad Kuchenbecker - DE/TE - Washington HS (IL) - Was first team All-Mid-Illini Conference Defense as a Junior. Broke his leg as a Senior.

Jack McCoy - LB - Woodstock HS - 3 yr starter. Chose NCC over Augustana.

Trevor Medved - RB - Triad HS (IL) - Ran for 981 yards on 77 carries (12.7-yard average) last season and led the Knights with 14 touchdowns.

Chase Taphorn - CB - Morton HS

Alex Ulmer - WR/DB - Valor Christian HS (CO) - fun fact about this one; he announced his commitment on Twitter.

NCF - Then, we should probably disregard Mr. Goulet's preemptive post...Just making sure your apprehension applies to Naperville recruits as well.  ;)

I don't have any "apprehension" over any recruits. I know what I've seen over the last four years. Just because a kid was a good h.s player means jack untile they actually do something on the field. Have seen too many guys quit, leave school, get career ending injuries or get removed from the team for various reasons to ever get excited over anyone at any school. On average, only about 20-25 guys have what it takes to stay with the team for four years and probably only half of that number are major contributors or three/four starters. I  laugh at the number of stories I've read about these supposed studs and then learn they quit before their freshman season is even half over. Just sayin' -that's my take on the whole process. Not tryin to knock anyone in particular :);):)

congratulations to Augie's Dave Wrath who has been honored with the naming of the new press box at Augie.

So I suppose we should commence referring to it as "The box of Wrath"?

Gregory Sager

It's a well-deserved honor. And I'm certainly looking forward to working in Dave's new namesake press box.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Dave more personal doing the Augie Regional (bball) a few years back in addition to the EC fb casts.  What a wealth or Wrath of knowledge.  He also always has something nice to say, even when your team may not have been doing too well.

Jesse Peterson, OT with the Thunder, signed as free agent with Carolina.  Must have had a good work out in Dallas as well.
