Hoping Wheaton gets the WR back to health.

QuoteThree CCIW teams in the D3Football.com preseason Top 25.

Can just one of them win in Alliance? (please).

Is Hibden injured?
I sure hope not- he is fun to watch.

I have heard rumors (unconfirmed) that Hiben is out for the season. That would obviously be a huge blow to the Thunder. The addition of a new offensive coordinator is not a positive. It may not be a negative but it is neutral at best. Roberts has operated under the same offense for his whole career. the new offense, while wide open and prolific, is still new. We probably won't notice too much as the Thunder play 4 of their first 6 at home. They open at Benedictine the vs Albion and Luther. The Wheaton defense has the most question marks having graduated many of their top defenders.

Wheaton will be good but they have more questions going into this season than they did last season.

Wow-it's a good thing you didn't write the Thunder season preview as it seems Coach Swider has a much more optimistic point of view going into 2013. ;D I'm betting Wheaton will come out with something to prove-and a chip on their shoulder after missing the play-offs for the past two seasons. New OC or not, I think Roberts will have a very good season.

My opinion on Wheaton being 3rd is not so much about how strong Wheaton will be as much as how good I think IWU is going to be. It wouldn't surprise me to see any one of those 3 win the AQ this year.

I think I would have to agree with you on that point. All three teams are loaded with seniors-should be an exciting season.

NCF...only got to look at Oshkosh needed just four plays in overtime to cinch the game. Wara and Voss hooked up on a 21-yard catch-and-run as the Titans took their first lead of the game, 30-24.

No use watching the LINJFIELD fumble, unless, of course you'd like to go back and watch the game ending fumble in OT at St. Thomas in 2010 as well.

These glitches will stop.

Congrats to Spencer Clark from Wheaton and Jace Werkheiser and Shane Dierking from North Central for making the D3football.com preseason all-america team.  For the entire list go here

IMHO:
I put Wheaton at number one.  With IWU second if they can avoid injuries.  One injury last year changed the completion of the team.
North Central has one of the best d-backfields but will still have trouble with Wheatons very tall receivers even if Mark Hiben doesn't play a snap. North Central has one big question to answer in they don't have a proven RB.  I think they need a very good running back so their passing game will open up.

Luke Thorson 6'6"
Austin Langemeier 6'3"  He is going to be another special receiver and I would not be surprised to see him as the leading receiver in the CCIW this year if Hibben is out.  Has tremendous hands and doesn't break stride when he catches.
Hunter Thorson 6'6"
Grayson [Roberts]   Runs great routes always gets open with good hands.
Wheatons run defense will be very good again this year.  The only question I see Wheaton having is at Safety.

Wheaton kicker Sam Cote put on the Fred Mitchell Award watch list.  There's 34 people on it from FCS, D2, D3, NAIA, and NJCAA.  It's for both placekicking and community service.  It should be noted that the winner of the award need not come from the watch list and that players on the watch list were nominated by their schools.  Not sure of the prestige of this award.

Too funny!  We know where Kool-Aiders wind up right? LOL

Show me a HC who will not be positive about his team (no matter how strong or where a conference prediction poll might place you) going into the season?  I have yet to meet one.
