A couple of questions for you. If I look past Franklin and look forward to the Lnfield game the following week am I adding to Whitewater's chances of losing? And if so, but Whitewater manages to scrape by Franklin in spite of my lack of focus, will I not have actually HELPED the following week given I've added a week of focus to the Wildcats?  ;)

I don't think it would prove to impact UWW's chances one way or another (unless, of course, you are suiting up to play on Saturday and not studying the film!!).  You will have to call Miss Cleo to be sure!!  It does prove, however, that you may have too much time on your hands if you are able to focus on a game that may never occur... I don't think even Miss Cleo will know the answer to that.   :)

I agree  ;D

My focus shifts to Linfield sometimes because one of the UWW faithful who shall remain nameless likes to bait me by saying things like this year's team "isn't close" to the past and Linfield is the best team in the country. I will not be baited any more!! (Unless he says more stupid stuff  :D )

Truthfully, we all have only a few weeks of this left, even if we continue to be "into it" after our teams are out. While our teams are in, we should probably "take one game at a time" in terms of savoring the experience. As I'm sure you've figured out, I asked the question because of the wording of your posts. You clearly get it, but I have seen some people post as if they really believed what we did or what we posted would affect the outcome of games. I've even seen posts like "That will teach you to look ahead" after some team was upset. Like everyone to a degree, we can be prone to an exaggerated sense of our own importance. But for the record, I have never been accused of that. I flat out dominate when it comes to humility.  ;D

GRIZ_BACKER---

Be careful with those "libations" you plan to pick up on your way north. The very friendly Wisconsin State Police love nothing more than to stop out of state cars for the slightest infractions. There is an unwritten WI law that says out of staters are not allowed to do the same things WI residents can, such as exceed the speed limit by even the slightest of margins. A perfect example is my brother-in-law, a Minnesota resident, who was recently stopped for going 3 MPH over the limit on his way home from a weekend visit to my mother-in-laws in WI.
Keep your "libations" in the trunk. If they're seen in the car, they will want to check everything including the ashtrays!  :o   >:(

Good advice it appears.  Future daughter in-law behind the wheel.  I will be safely ensconced in the SUV back seat controlling the music and annoying the front seat passengers  LOL

Do NOT, I repeat NOT annoy the young female driver least she becomes so distressed at the prospect of having you as a father-in-law that she reconsiders your son's invitation to join the family. Should that happen, your son might decline to take care of you when you get really old. LOL  ;D

My son became engaged on the evening of Sept 28th to his g/f of 11 years--yes 11!
So far, she hasn't withdrawn her acceptance, so I assume I'm still OK with AndOne junior.  ;D

OK fans. Here is today's statistical pile of s__t which doesn't mean pOOp.

* NCC beat Albion whose opponents, before NCC, were a combined 50-50 this season.

* UWP beat Concordia WI whose opponents, before UWP, were a combined 38-52 this season.

* NCC"s opponents so far, incl Albion, have a combined record of 52-60

* UWP's opponents so far, incl Concordis WI, have a combined record of 51-61

** The standard response will be---"You're right, none of it means pOOp."  ???   ::)   ;)

We can't be sure if it took him eleven years to ask, or eleven years for her to say yes. Only that in September the engagement was finalized.

I'm guessing it took her 11 years of training him to not be like AndOne.

Sorry, AndOne, couldn't resist! ;D

AndOne

No problem Ypsi.
But, if she had to wait until the training him not to be like me course was complete, it would have been another 9 years!
Actually, neither of them felt the need to "rush" ( ::) ) into anything. Her only wish was to be engaged before she turned 30 so, being a nice guy like his dad, he got down on one knee at her birthday party which took place the night before the magic number came up! Ain't love grand? ;D

Interesting tidbit: about 50% of the UW-Platteville roster is from the Chicago area.

Part of the reason is probably due to the Tri-State Initiative which makes tuition for Illinois and Iowa students more affordable.

Early in the week, I know, but any of my NCC brethren hearing anything about Slezak's status for this weekend's match-up with UW-P? He got his bell rung pretty good (by his own player, none-the-less) on Saturday.
You win! You always do!
