Redman96,

From what I take it bad karma is inflicted on anyone who is a "jass" and because the veteran posters simply can give anyone bad karma that they want.  Its obvious I get it every time i post because of my name.  quite childish...please everyone who is a veteran...smite me!  as in the big lebowski..."its laughable man, hahahahaha" (Jesus commenting on Walter's day of rest...SHOMER SHABBAS!)

GO IWU!

ok back to football...

NCC has had two seasons in a row of 7 wins.  Obviously something of an accomplishment considering NCC's history.  They finally beat Augie last year after 20-some years and what I think was mostly due to DeGeorge being the DC and NCC knowing DeGeorges calls...this was obvious.  Now, is it likely that NCC will be able to beat Wheaton, Augie this year or is this going to be a season full of hype.  It'll be interesting to see how NCC comes out and plays.   I dont doubt that they could be the best team in the CCIW this year...of course its week 2 and its anyones conference.  What is the consensus on this topic?

All of the CCIW teams win this week, except for IWU and NPU.

pressboxes: i have seen both NCC and MUC. i did not go inside muc but have been in ncc briefly. they are different. ncc built a press box for a track/cross country (they are the MUC of d3 track/cc). muc has a football pressbox. that said i would give  a slight edge to ncc from the outside only since, as i said, i have not been inside muc pressbox.

best boxes in cciw:

ncc
wheaton
millikin

these all suck:
elmhurst
augie
iwu
np
carthage(old one)

Wheaton down 13-6 at half.  Chupp has thrown 3 int's.  Absolutely no offense for Wheaton.  The defense and great special teams are keeping them in the game.

Hello all...first time posting here on postpatterns...

Recent grad of NCC, played O-Line.

To Hughjass:

There was no stealing of signals by NCC coaches of DeGeorge's defense...it was simply outstanding defensive coaching by Bill Wienke and offensive coaching by  John and Jeff Thorne.  They watched hours of tape and figured it out.  Not one of the players or coaches "stole signals" or were familiar enough with DeGeorge's defense to do that.  They were, through watching tape, able to figure out how to beat it.  NCC is going to be really good this year and contend for the title...

NCC believes in themselves, the school is behind them, and it's gunna be a heck of a year.

Wheaton down 16-6. Only 58 yards total offense in first half.  4 turnovers.  Not a winning combination.  If not for the defense, this game would be over already.

Scary thing is, I thought QB was one of the positions Wheaton didn't have to worry about.  I know it's only 1/2 a game so far, but Chupp needs to turn things around big time.  Doesn't help that GA already has one game under their belt.

I'm holding on to hope that Swider & Co. can turn things around in the 4th quarter, but they can't turn it over anymore and have a chance.

Mr. Ypsi

According to Scoreboard, Wheaton has stormed back to lead 23-16 with 4:36 left!

At the half: UWEC 32, Titans 0 - OUCH!

Also, final: Augie 52, Catholic 26.

Anyone have any results that haven't hit the scoreboard yet?

CardAlum 62,

Degeorge has been running the same type of defensive scheme for over 10 years.  I really don't think it took brilliant coaching or intense film study to understand what the Augie defense was going to do.  Sitting here right now, and not having watched last year's NCC/Augie game I could tell you with relative certainty the way Degeorge was going to scheme NCC.

Remember, you had coaches Wayne and Gordan...Wayne who was Degeorge's D-line coach, Gordan who played for DeGeorge.  I think they could provide pretty good insight into the DeGeorge Defense.

The same goes with NCC's scheming of Augie's Offense.  Everyone in the conference knows what Augies O is going to do...it doesn't come down to scheme.  It comes down to execution.  Last year, was the first year NCC has out-executed Augie (in the last 25 years) and consequently NCC won.

With that said...none of that matters unless the NCC players execute and perform.  I want to congratulate you and your teammates on helping to turn around the program and on kicking some serious ass the last three years.

It's a final now Wheaton edges out Gustavos 23-16 for their first W.  It's always nice to get a win, but this was NOT PRETTY!!!!!  What's the word with Wesleyan???  Anyone have any news?  It looks like a good showing my Augie.  Put up some good offense.

Nice comeback for Wheaton.  Good to win a game against a decent (but not great) team, even when you don't play great for 3 quarters.  Actually the defense and special teams played quite well from what I could tell from the radio broadcast.

It would be good to hear from anyone who witnessed the game firsthand, as it is hard to judge without seeing it.

Whats everyones thoughts on who has the best uniforms in the conference?

I really like NCC's new Uni's...but I hate the helmet logo....The old helmets with the Cardinal head wrapping around to the back were much cooler than the N and C transposed on eachother.

Otherwise, I think the Cards uni's are an upgrade over past year.
