This is awesome. Kudos for these coaches to get in on the fun. Great team builder and friendly rivalry. Come on Thorne!

He's way over the 24 hour time limit, unfortunately.

What's unfortunate about it?

The whole point of the challenge is to complete it in 24 hours or donate $100 to ALS.

Actually it all started out a little different. You were supposed to donate $25 if you completed the challenge and $100 if you didn't. The time limit only existed so people wouldn't forget about it. The point is to raise money and awareness for ALS, not to dump a bucket of ice water over your head in 24 hours...

Every video I've watched of friends and family include "you have 24 hours to complete the challenge or donate $100 to ALS". If you do the challenge it is a $10 donation. At least that's what I've seen so far.

I guess it all depends on what you consider the start. The 24 hours has always been a component, but not the point.

While I admire the effort and creativity from Coach Thorne, I have to say there wasn't much ice coming out of those buckets. Not sure if it was even cold. 9 buckets of water doesn't make up for lack of ice! I would say Swider wins this challenge due to no shirt, Eash is a close second and Thorne is third best in my view. Great job by all three to be good sports about it though and support a good cause!

Sounds like IWU will be starting a true freshman at QB this year.  And, don't be surprised to see some action, packages where Tyrell Boldon is also playing QB.  He played QB in high school.  Will continue to play defense, of course.  A new day, in the post-Gallik era.  See Pgraph article today with Norm's decisions on players leading into the opener vs. Franklin @home on September 6th.

Amazing, iwu'70 posted in the football space!  :)

By some stroke of luck, I posted in the right room.

I can tell you guys are so so interested in football -- not even to ask who the true freshmen winning the Titan QB is, and that Tyler Hook, the supposed heir apparent to Rob Gallik, decided to leave the program.  Seems the skill positions in the new IWU offense for the coming year are truly in flux.  We'll see by next week.

Yes, just think of all the sports possibilities with all these new Asian students coming to the US and to IWU -- I'm hoping for club badminton. IWU could dominate.  Chuck, you could be the new coach!

Happy holiday weekend all -- celebrating that most fundamental American value:  hard work.

Have a good Labour Day holiday break, all.

IWU'70  (shall I push the "post" button now, is it OK, is it OK?)  :)
