From the picture here it would appear the North Brainerd College players have a problem handling sensitive hardware. Look closely and you can see something important is missing.....kind of a "where's waldo" picture.

Since the folks from SoDup can't take good care of it, we'll just need to take back the bell next year to restore it (provided the player to the left of the trophy doesn't still have it).   ;)

The missing ornament did fall off rather quickly after being recovered from the dark side!   ;). It is quite a fragile piece that falls off easily.  It has returned to its rightful perch in fine fashion.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

You'll have an extra week to prepare after you're knocked out of the playoffs this weekend :)

From that story:

"Years later, the bell fell into the hands of a local farmer living between the two cities. Both of his sons wanted to attend college. It was decided that the son who won a coin toss would attend North Central, while the other would head off to Wheaton."

Seems appropriate that the winner and loser would be assigned to matriculate at those specific schools...  :P

In my best Tom Skilling voice...

Tomorrow'a weather appears to be shaping up quite nicely as the temperatures are expected to be close to 50 with only mild winds coming out of the N/NW.

Last week's wind conditions were very difficult and had me saying to myself that I'm glad we weren't playing Wheaton last week.  I feel confident that the wind will not be a factor in this game as I believe those conditions would've favored the Wheaties.   May the best team win.  I expect a great game, as I'm sure you all do.   Two teams that know each other well and respect each other.  Sets up for a great game.  Can't believe I have to wait another day.  Let's go Cards!!

I think the spirit of Thanksgiving has taken a hold of this room. I'm trying to stir the pot and drum up some hatred and trash talk but no one from that boring school tonthe North is biting.

Keys for the game tomorrow from both sides, IMO:

Wheaton needs to: 1-run the football to keep NCC Offense off the field, 2-figure out a way to make Rutter uncomfortable, 3-avoid turnovers

NCC needs to: 1-win the turnover battle as they have done all year, 2- win on special teams, 3-eke out some semblance of a running game from somewhere

Stagg Again!!

I just don't see that there is hatred in any part of this rivalry.  It's truly respect and one of the best rivalry games in the country.   Swider is a class act and so is his program.   Their alum on here are the same way. even Mugsy!   ;D.   USee and his reasoning and insite are as good as anyone.  At the end of tomorrow, there will be a great representative of our conference in the quarterfinals.   Here's hoping it's a Cardinal victory!   NCC has to run the football.  That's the key to the game.  They can't let Wheaton line up with three linemen and not make them pay.  Wheaton will commit to the running game and try to shorten the game as they don't want to get into a shootout.   I've got Cardinals by 3.  Good luck, boys!

We truly wanted to beat SoDup in the worst way and completely, but it never was out of hatred or animosity.  Just a straight up rivalry.  I've had the opportunity to work with multiple former SoDup'ers over the past 25 years, and have gotten to know several others outside of work (especially as I did my graduate work at the southern campus).  Great guys, even CardinalAlum.   ::)

Looking forward to an intense game that I hope goes down to the wire.  How epic would that be?  (especially if Wheaton takes the 2nd game of the season)  ;)
