Congrats to NCC on an outstanding defensive game plan in the second half.

I'm hoping Greenfield will be ok, he's really fun to watch. I don't know the nature of the injury, it didn't seem promising for next week.

Wheaton-St. John's should be a lot of fun to watch.

Big time congrats to North Central in taking down those purple guys.  You certainly showed a pair out there today!

Glad you said that Berry... held The Machine (meant respectfully) to 14 points in the second half.  Bend but don't break.  Held 1st Team All-American and potential NFL WR Justin Hill to 20 yards receiving in the second half.

And they did it by executing the same thing Mount should have been doing all game: rush at least 4 and see if you can get the QB off his spot. Even if he pulls it and gets 5 or 6, better than getting immediately gashed for 20+.

So, ignorant question, but I'm not much into D3 outside the general Midwest area...

But now I find myself watching a game in California for..reasons.

Which team should I want to win in prep for next week for Wheaton?

Wouldn't mind seeing Chapman win to have to come and play in cold weather next week. Saint Johns is from Minnesota so the weather would be a wash. All teams are solid at this point and I admittedly know little about Chapman overall. Saw a Johnnies fan say that Saint Johns has a cakewalk to the semifinal last week on the boards so I wouldn't mind Wheaton putting a pounding on them next week either

Who said that?? I don't think any SJU regular poster is looking past Chapman and especially not Wheaton.

MiacMan didn't say it would be a "cakewalk", but "easily make it to the semi's" is close enough.

Did a quick overview of the brackets based on D3 poll rankings:

UMHB Bracket (5 of 8 ranked)
2 plays 17
23 plays No Votes
7 plays No Votes
Receiving Votes plays 22

Wheaton Bracket (6 of 8 ranked)
3 plays No Votes
24 plays 18
12 plays 20
8 plays Receiving Votes

Salisbury Bracket (3 of 8 ranked)
6 plays No Votes
13 plays Receiving Votes
4 plays No Votes
No Votes plays Receiving Votes

Mount Bracket (5 of 8 ranked)
1 plays Receiving Votes
5 plays No Votes
10 plays No Votes
21 plays 9

Teams ranked but left home
11-John Carroll
14-UST
15-Susquehanna
16-HSimmons
19-Bethel
25-UWLX

So only 19 of the 32 team field are ranked and 13 are unranked. It will be interesting to see how many unranked teams survive round 1,2,... Oh well, It was a great year and the playoffs will be fun to watch. It looks to me like the Johnnies got a great draw. They should easily make it to the Semi's and then have a great chance to beat either UMHB or UWW.

Maybe he was thinking of the game against Wheaton as the semis for the "Left" bracket.

Oddly enough, now that the Cardinals beat Mount Union, I think they have an easier path to the title game than Wheaton does. I'd take Muhlenberg & Salisbury over St. John's & Mary Hardin-Baylor everyday. Cardinals earned it with that win.

Yea, but yesterday would you have taken "win at mount and then..." over home against StJu and UMHB? I wouldn't

He's a Tommie.

That would explain it.  Thanks for the correction.

I stand corrected! Sorry for the assumption and poor paraphrase 😬

It was a great win, without question, for North Central today. However, there is no easy path to the title game for anyone. I believe that both Wheaton and North Central have a good chance, but it will be a tough challenge. I do think we will see some good 3rd and 4th round games the next two weekends.

Right?  Isn't the lesson today that winning this tournament is really hard?
