Yea, WW is bitter about a few things and seems to think Wheaton isn't deserving of an NCAA bid. They were in either way so not sure the WashU situation makes any difference. I hope Chicago will accept a non con game with the Thunder. I know they have called them and gotten crickets.

Separately, Wheaton, or any team, would have loved the Isthmus bowl idea. What senior wouldn't want an extra game to lace it up? These two teams will be fired up because there is not tomorrow on either side.

Dallas McCrae is looking a lot like his former self. Named to D3.com POW he had 3 TFL and 2 sacks and now has 18 TFL on the season. He has come on very strong the last few weeks and is playing like the D3 DPOY he was last year. Combined with Holaday (9 sacks) this DT duo is one of the best this league has ever seen.

Wheaton's overall defense is #1 in the nation in Sacks, #3 in rush defense, #8 in scoring defense. The secondary has really developed over the course of the season, making this one of the better defenses Wheaton has ever had.

On Offense, Giovani Weeks leads the conference in rushing and has been dynamic behind the strength of this Wheaton team, the OLine.

There are some great teams in our bracket so these guys will get tested by some of the absolute best in D3 starting with Aurora and their AA QB. Should be a great game.

In case you missed it, NCC beat the 62 point spread against NPU while rushing for more than 600 yards.

They should get crickets. Wheaton should be calling UWO, which can't even fill its schedule, if they want to avoid the precarious scenario in which they nearly placed themselves this year. But you're right, didn't matter. They've got influential friends who will turn a blind eye to inconvenient outcomes. Why? Because they're Wheaton, I guess...

I'm sure the Wheaton Coaching staff will be calling you to get your expert opinion soon. Blame it all on Wheaton, for whom you clearly have a negative view, but I can tell you the committee members on the Five did that. I would bet Jesse Scott wouldn't even know who most of those people were, except for Dan Gritti, coach at Millikin. And the National Committee, who has the right to change any ranking they see fit, endorsed the Five as well. So keep posting negative stuff about Wheaton all over these boards if you wish, but your beef isn't with them.

I don't got beef with Wheaton. I don't got bologna, cheese, or tofu with Wheaton. I got beef with the fact that criteria will be ignored or manipulated to ease Wheaton's way into the playoffs at the expense of other teams. I haven't posted "negative stuff" about them. I've discussed their criteria, relative to other teams. Can't help it if it looks the way it looks. I'm fine with them being in pool C, as things turned out. They deserve it. Ranking WUSTL was some bull*******y to bolster their lacking criteria that basically proved my point, but its effect was negligible, and was wholly unnecessary, IMO.

What other team was not in because Wheaton was in? The only one ignoring criteria for the last 6 weeks is you. You repeatedly ignored Wheaton's result against NCC and cited their SOS (which mathmatically, due to a 10 team league will be between .480-.520 every year) as some kind of valid sorting data. You projected them playing in the Isthmus bowl and said Chicago would be a a better Pool C than them. Now you say UWL will be the best team NCC has faced.  The national committee looked at the rankings of Region 5 and made no changes. Same with Salisbury at the bottom of another region. I have no problem with regional committees ranking teams that help resumes of other teams. Region 4 ranks half the OAC to help a weak team like BW get in. That's the system we have. The criteria are not meant to rule (or else get rid of the people) and the people aren't meant to rule (or get rid of the criteria). They work together. There is some subjectivity. Has to be.

No negative stuff? Your approach is subtle but all your digs, repeatedly, are noted. Fortunately, the most accurate predictors in D3 are the voters in the D3.com pool. They will be proven right again this post season.

BTW, I am giving the points and taking NCC for anyone who wants to lose something significant to them.

I know this post is more than 12 hours old but hey ... we get it. Enough axe-grinding. People told you all year this was how it was going to happen, and I'm sorry it was still somehow a surprise to you, but it happened. Time to accept it and move on.

For the all-conference awards, it was obviously the North Central and Wheaton show with 17 and 15 players respectively. Looking a little deeper, the classes for the awards between those two are like this:

North Central (17 total):
Seniors 6
Juniors: 5
Soph: 3
Frosh: 3

Wheaton (15 total):
Seniors: 12
Juniors: 3
Soph: 0
Fresh: 0

It's no secret the Thunder are built to win this year, North Central is going to be scary for a while. I know the Thunder have some great young talent so they will drop off next year but will still be in the mix. North Central's dominance is scary as 11 of those 17 all conference players return next year.
