North Park's football roster is now available at http://www.northpark.edu/athletics/football/roster.cfm

I counted over 30 first-year players, but perhaps more importantly, there are 15 seniors and 14 juniors.  Those are key numbers, given the historically poor retention among upperclassmen on the team.

Incidentally, it's so nice to be on a CCIW board that's not dominated by discussion about one team and how amazing they are, and have always been. (cough)

This speaks volumes about the humility of Augustana posters.  ;D

Ditto on the k+.... sooo funny!!!!

Then again, maybe it's just that recent history has humbled you a little?   :P ;)

(This may be old news, so if you know already disregard)  however,  Tom Kudyba former QB at IWU and brother to Elmhurst QB Chris Kudyba, has signed a contract playing football in Finland.  I play racquetball with family friends of the Kudyba's and they told me yesterday he is in Helsinki and other cities in Finland, playing football.  Congratulations and I hope he does well.  For awhile, he was a one man team for IWU.

RedmenFB44

I found this very interesting. Here is the breakdown of The Redmen players by class:

Fr. - 63
So. - 27
Jr. - 15
Sr. - 28

The Redmen will have a lot of Senior leadership so that should help a young defense.

Also, I saw that the Redmen have a player (DB) that transfered from Mount Union (yes he was on the roster there not just a student) just thought that was interesting

jaybird:

Vacation was very nice - thanks for asking.  However, as usual too short and it has been "back to the grind" this week so far.  BTW, books were mailed today so you should get them in a couple of days.  My sincere apologies for the tardiness/delay in sending these out - you have been very patient.  I intended to mail them on the way "out the door" when leaving for vacation, but in the haste of the moment (and running behind for leaving for a trip as usual!), I forgot them.  Anyway, hope you enjoy them and thanks for the support.

Did you acquire new broadcasting equipment this year?  Also, sounds like Elmhurst has a good turnout for camp.  Keep us posted.

I'm a little dizzy from reading the 100 or so pages I've neglected over the off-season, but I'm willing to join the rest of the prognosticators in picking this years final records. How's this for conference parity?

                      Conference        Overall
1) Carthage       5-2                    8-2
2) NC                 5-2                    8-2
3) Wheaton       5-2                    7-3
4) Augie             5-2                    6-4
5) Millikin            4-3                    6-4
6) Elmhurst        3-4                    6-4
7) IWU               1-6                    4-6
8) NP                  0-7                    2-8

You betcha I'm gonna be homer at this stage in the game. Let us not forget that in 2004 Carthage was picked to finish 7th in the conference and ended up 4th in the Nation. The large senior class this year were sophomores in 2004 and had a large contribution to the success. They are ready to do it one last time!

Did anyone get Kickoff 2005?  Was it worth the money?

formerd3db--Glad to hear the vacation went well. Yes, the first couple days back from any vacation are long and somewhat depressing. :D
We don't have any new equipment.  We (I should say the college) boosted the power of the station so we can get a larger listening audience.  I still say listening in over the Internet  www.wrse.com  is still the best way.  I tried to propose the idea of "live streaming"  (what I do for d3football/hoops  during playoffs)  to the college, but I think they are still a ways away from that.  New propositions sometimes is like moving cattle. :P
I will look forward to reading your books and you always have my support.  MR
*I noticed in the Daily Herald that Northwestern is practicing at Carthage College.  Has this interfered with the Redmen's practices?  Or do they have multiple practicing facilities?

79jaybird - In addition to football, does Elmhurst ever broadcast basketball over the web? I have been waiting for that for a loooong time.

I didn't for 2005, but I am for this season.  If it contains the same level of information and insight provided by this website, then IMO option it is definitely worth the $8.95.

I feel comfortable with my level of knowledge on the CCIW and some other conferences in the Midwest.  Where I'm completely in the dark is with the rest of the conferences.  I'm hopeful this will help fill in the void of information.
