Mt Union had some early success running the ball and is close to having to become one dimensional if they score and show some ability to stop the Cardinal rushing attack. UMU has to figure out how to get Ruby more involved.

Feels like the Raiders aren't done yet. Although 3 score game also feels too big. Those two FG's into that wind are huge right now.  I expect some Ruby fireworks down the stretch with the wind at Mt Unions back.

USee, barring a miraculous Mount comeback kudos on your analysis of this game. Going pretty much exactly how you predicted.

Ice Bear says once again...Greenfield is a ****ing beast. Ice loves this kid.

Ice says btw, anyone else feel the color commentator for the game sounds exactly like ****ing Mos Def?

Wish I was wrong. I've just seen this movie plenty of times.

NCC playing without 3 starting OL that haven't missed a game all year. Freshmen RG Pryor, Freshman RT Maples and Senior LT Fortier all out. That's a tough break. They all played last week. I hear Covid may have hit the Cardinals.

Ice just saw this. Ice says WOW! He says if this is the case than Ice's lord...what a running machine missing THREE OL starters and running the ball on Mount like this. Ice yells...what depth!

Congratulations NCC. Well deserved!  Go win it next week!

Congrats to the Cardinals!  Unbelievable performance to put up almost 300 yards rushing against Mount with 3 starting OL out.  Bring it back home to the CCIW next week at the Stagg Bowl!!

My sentiments exactly. Hopefully they can keep the spread limited to those 3 OL. Would be terrible to lose more players for the title.
You win! You always do!

Well. That was impressive. NCC ran the ball with 3 backup OL for 293 yd and held Mt Union to 72 yds rushing (2 in the second half). Held Wayne Ruby to 4 catches (none after the 1st quarter) and generally dominated the game. Another backup, FG kicker Tanner Raines, came into the game 0-3 on FG's and hit 2 absolutely monstrous FG's into a 30 mph wind. Two more defensive backups had big games, LB Cole Griffin and DE Jamauri Spivery

NCC demonstrated today they have versatility, depth and physicality to do pretty much whatever they wanted. Only one opponent this year was able to stop the NCC ground game but they also couldn't score enough to win. NCC is really a complete team. It's gonna take a special effort to knock them off.

I also understand their 3 missing OL (Fortier, Maples, Pryor) are likely for next week.

Out-physicaling Mount in Alliance with three OL out and a freshman QB playing in 40 MPH winds?  This program has come light years even in the last five years.

Fun fact:  Mount's last title came in 2017.  Assuming they return no sixth year seniors, next year's Mount team will have no players with championship experience for the first time since 1992.  Not suggesting they will have fallen out of that tippy-top tier as the scoreboard says 25 semifinal-or-better appearances in the last 26 postseasons, but this will be unfamiliar territory for the Purple Raiders.

SpartanHouse

I'm pretty nervous for NCC next week. I really hope their Covid situation doesn't spread throughout the team.

Virus is spreading pretty rapidly throughout Chicagoland currently.

Schipper Strong

Congratulations NCC! Glad you made it back to the championship and short OL players no less.
