I'm pretty nervous for NCC next week. I really hope their Covid situation doesn't spread throughout the team.

Virus is spreading pretty rapidly throughout Chicagoland currently.

Word is they were out not due to positive test but due to contact tracing. So fingers crossed.

Next Man Up

So North Central, who most opined was wrongly sent on the road, and evidently playing without 3 starting offensive linemen, their starting middle linebacker, and their usual kicker, beat the NCAA's favored child on their home turf.

Bend over and take that up the wazoo members of the Division III Football Committee-—Duey Naatz (UW-S), John Snell (B-W), Gregg Kaye (CC Conference), Blaise Faggiano (Utica), Edward Hottle (Stevenson), Matt Moore (U of NW-St. Paul), Michael Schulist (Carroll, WI), and J.J. Nekoloff (ODA Conference)!

Congrats to UMU on, as usual, another outstanding season.

Game balls all around and especially to Beast Greenfield, Tanner Raines, and each of the number 2s that started today, and preformed so admirably.
So young hero, ask yourself............................Do you want to go to college, get a good education, and play (basketball)(football), or do you want to go to college, get a good education, and watch (basketball)(football)? 🤔 😏

Don't surround yourself with yourself. 🧍🏼‍♂️(Yes)

MHB it is. Their D looks much bigger & faster than anyone else we've faced. Don't know that the offense is unique other than Jordan. NCC DBs are big but not 6'6 big!

Contract tracing? How is that still a thing?

Well it's pretty simple we made fighting a pandemic a political issue, missing the window to get everyone vaccinated and kill off the virus for good. Now we are in a world where we have variants and the like, hence contact tracing to try and head off community spread.

It's part of the NCAA protocols released before the season started. If you are Vaxxed and come in close contact with a Covid positive, you have to wait 3-5 days and then test negative to rejoin your team. That's likely what happened. If you test positive, you are out 14 days minimum.

Isn't the pandemic a problem for countries all around the world- or is just here in the US, where apparently only our politicians messed up?

Definitely everywhere.
But very much a political issue here.

Yeah, only in contemporary America would trying to combat a virus become political! ::)

WUPHF

The fight against the pandemic has been political in many countries around the world.

Only in America do we subscribe to an American exceptionalism that has Americans convinced that we are unique in every regard.

It is not at all clear that we were going to be able to vaccinate our way out of the pandemic.  Everyone who is at risk and wants a vaccine has had the option available for quite a while.

I apologize for taking this off track.

I admittedly know less about MHB than UWW or Mt U. How does NCC match up?

My only point in asking why contract tracing is even a thing...

With having a vaccine and knowing that this virus doesn't effect college athletes, I thought NCAA athletes only had to sit if they tested positive.

Just sounds ABSOLUTELY BANANAS that NCC had players miss the game because they came in close contact with the virus.

Not rational thinking...

Also, is it just on the honor system to admit you were in close contact?

Stagg Again!!

Wonder if the NCAA will make NCC the home team since the Cardinals are the best D3 team in eastern Ohio?!? :P
