I agree with Thunderdome21 the Thunder's chances this weekend rely on their ability to control the clock (top 10 in TOP), score a lot, and try to manufacture a couple stops. And make all their kicks (SMH).

Augie might be a lot better than anyone thinks. 20 returning starters and 10 super seniors. OL has 3 super seniors and all 5 returning starters. QB struggles a bit at times missing WR's. While Wheaton struggled a lot defending the run against them, the Thunder dominated UWO on both sides of the LOS. I haven't seen Carroll but I wouldn't be surprised if Augie rolls this weekend. If UWO is top 25, then Augie is as well. Best team the Thunder have played so far.

might (will) be an ugly weekend for both Wheaton and UWO

USee- I caught a bit of the Wheaton- Augie game and I agree with you, Augie has some players. I'd sure be surprised if Augie doesn't handle Carroll comfortably.

UWO v UWW always makes me uncomfortable.

1 quarter deep, this Wheaton D is worse than Elmhurst's was last week. Yikes.

North Park is pretty good.

Not when they're throwing five INTs and gaining 1.6 yards per carry, they're not.

Kenosha should be friendlier environs next week than St. Louis was today.

Just curious ... when's the last time somebody put up 54 on the scoreboard against Wheaton?

I tweeted out mid-third quarter that NCC had already more than surpassed Augie's rushing total the week prior. The Cardinals finished with 447 on the ground, which now has me curious when the last time that happened to the Thunder would have been.

West end zone was a pretty good place to be this afternoon.

Looked it up. It's the most the Thunder have allowed in a single game since Augie ran for 497 in 2004.

That doesn't seem long ago, but I'm old enough now to realize that what doesn't seem long ago nevertheless often is truly long ago. ;)

IWU over the Big Blue 45-17.   IWU played better today, with finally some running game.   Both teams are pretty bad.   I think IWU is now down to its 3rd QB.  Game next week vs. Wash U will be ugly.  I'd say Wash U by 3-4 TDs.

There were undoubtedly players on the field today who were not alive then.  So in that sense, it was a lifetime ago.

Augustana had to come back from a nine-point deficit in the game's final dozen minutes to nip Carroll, 23-19, in Rock Island. I kept it to myself, but, having previously seen both teams, I strongly suspected that this was going to be a very competitive game.
