I dunno, I think the fact that you have 10x less posts than me indicates a significantly higher level of sanity on your part.  :-[ :D

new helmets for CCIW

Assuming that the helmets will actually look like that, I think I am ok with the Wheaton one.   The NP one also looks good.

The inside99.net  football helmet site is a great site. Yes, the new Vikings and Thunder helmets are correct.  They don't have the 2006 Carthage helmet up yet.  I personally like the historical helmets.
From Elmhurst minicamp/practices... their defense is going to be strong.  They return all 11 starters and have some depth in most positions.  Offensively, they have some vets, but IMO they will need some of the guys to "turn it up a notch". funny how things turn around.  During Dom Demma's days, the offense was strong and the D was the question mark.  Nowadays, their Defense is their bread & butter, and the offense is the question mark.

Lakeshore,

Thanks for putting up the link for helmet web-site... that is sweet! (I'm enjoying looking at all the previous helmets from the Big 10 and.... CCIW of course)

I'm very curious to see what the rest of the new Wheaton uniform (I'm assuming everything is new, not just the helmet) will look like... please correct me if I'm wrong.

While I've always been a big fan of the scripted "Wheaton", the rest of the uni needed help.  Especially when we went to the solid color pants (no stripes).  C'mon, you can't have stripes on the jerseys and none on the pants.  I'm not saying stripes are better than no stripes, but there's got to be some continuity.

Without seeing the rest of the uni, I definitely like the scripted Wheaton over the W (but that's just the CRUSADER comin out in me)

"look good, feel good... play good"    don't know who said it, but I like it!

I apoligize if thats not as exciting as a post from a wheaton vs Wabash game over 20 years ago.

There's NOTHING more exciting than football from twenty years ago!  :P

You got that right! 20 years ago Augie was in the process of winning their 4th straight national title. Actually they're going to honor that team during their home opener against Baldwin-Wallace September 9th. The seniors on that team never lost a game in their college careers...unbelievable.

Greg- The spelled out VIKINGS is not underlined.  The individual letters  are white with a gold border.  I think they look more like the V and T  from Virginia Tech.  Virginia Tech's VT  is white with that orange border.
I didn't know NPU gets many students from Minnesota.

Somewhere from 15 to 20 percent of NPU students hail from Minnesota. Some years the percentage is a little higher, some years it's a little lower. NPU's parent denomination, The Evangelical Covenant Church, has its highest concentration of churches in Minnesota -- which stands to reason, as the church was originally founded by Swedish immigrants.

In fact, North Park was originally a Minnesota school. It didn't move to its present location (in then-rural Jefferson Township, which was annexed by the city of Chicago in 1904) until 1894, eleven years after the unofficial founding and three years after the official founding. Before 1894, the school was located in a church basement in Minneapolis.

I think that I like the new 'VIKINGS' one better than the 'NP' one, MB. If nothing else, it incorporates NPU's other school color, gold, which the old 'NP' helmet didn't.

Posted by K-Mack over on the "Significant Injuries" board.

QuoteSounds like the Coe QB TeKippe may have an ACL injury, which would be one of the first significant injuries of the year.

Tracking them here publicly may seem gruesome, but it may also give us all a little insight into how and why the strength of teams shifts mid-season.

Could have an impact on the Coe/IWU game this weekend.

I am the Hansel and Gretel witch... I've been feeding you all those cookies all these years to fatten you up so I can eat you. :P

Though, I just remembered... I did make you eat one of your posts once.... and documented it... mean, but not witch like. Besides, you were the one who made the statement in the first place. Good times. :D

Greg- Great info!  One of my pasttimes (other than football) is history and going back into genealogical records.
I know we seem to say this every year, but I do hope that North Park can slowly "climb" their way back into the CCIW shuffle.  I think adding an 8th viable contender makes things even more exciting/difficult.
I keep hearing all the goodness April's cookies have.  I will have to try one someday.  Perhaps April's cookies were the "fuel" for the Thunder during their recent CCIW title years ;D
Disappointing news for the Coe Quarterback, and perhaps a signicant break for IWU.  I wonder how Coe's second string QB will operate being forced into the lead role by injury.
