Whew...  Hear the crickets in here? :P

Not to jump the gun any and ignore this weeks games, but I'm kinda looking forward to some CCIW conference action next week to turn things up a bit.

Personally I am looking forward to the outcome of the Albion-Millikin Game.  I think it will be good test for both teams.  The MIAA has provided some good competition for the CCIW over the years.  Don't see why this should be any exception.

matblake

Augie and Platteville should be great too.  In the Daily Dose today it speaks to what has been a good match-up over the last few years.  I would like to see some more games between the CCIW and the WIAC schools, although distance might be an issue for some schools in each conference.

Great to see NPU on the main page of the D3 board.

North Central 38 Wash U. 7
Albion 24 Millikin 17

jaybird,
I'll copy your picks over to the Pick Em's post.  In the future, look for them there and all results/standings/etc...

Umm... actually you're missing confidence points on each pick as well so never mind.  You'll need to go to Post Patterns, General Football, Pick-Em's, etc.., CCIW to see the current format and post your picks.  Sorry.

In response to my earlier post (#480), anyone else wanting to submit there picks needs to go to the same board.

All this going to different post pages....giving confidence points, etc, etc...is just too much for my feeble brain.  So I'll keep it simple.

NCC Good....Wash U Not so good.

NCC wins

I'll give em -17

I don't know about the Cards, but i'm dying for next weeks epic battle in Naperville (i hope Cards are focused today).  Unfortunately, I have to move so I will not be able to catch it.

I have talked to a couple of the Augie players and they pretty much agree with what us posters have been talking about in concern with the Vikings success. The defense needs to step up and the offense needs to keep the intensity that it has shown over the years. I think that as the season goes along it is going to be a lot stronger Augie team, on both sides of the ball.

Also a follow up to our discussion of the Augie recruits, and the fact that the recruits were stacked on the offensive side of the ball. Some of the incoming QB's have already quit. The small guy that came from Elk Grove is probably going to be or already has been converted to a DB (from what the players are saying his is shifty and fast although small). There have been some minor changes but nothing major yet. If I hear anything else I will pass it along.

Good luck to all CCIW teams as they complete non-conference play. Next week the dogfight begins. Also jaybird 58 pts total for the Augie-Plattville game, most of the guys around school thought that would be the first half.

Augie looks to take the game with a score of 45-7 against UW Platteville with just over 3 minutes left.  I find this interesting because augie's D has never been superb against the pass.  I've heard a little bit from internet radio but my my connection sucks.  "Augie has been dominating every aspect of the game today" - Augie Announcer...I cant wait to see the stats....

Mugsy

Wheaton pretty much under control, so far... there was a lightening delay in the 2Q.  27-7 at half.  Should be more but Chupp forced a pass over the middle in the redzone with 1:30 left in the half and it was intercepted.

Wheaton's D has looked good so far - especially the D-line.  If you can't tell, I didn't go to the game.  Conditions not good to watch game with the babies.

I'm streaming the game from WETN.  Want to see it with my own eyes...

Final:  Wheaton 48   Hope 7

Terse details here... I'll give more detailed summary later tonight (11pm or so).  Overall, Wheaton O continued to look sharper than previous weeks.  Chupp looked better with only one questionable pass, the INT right before half.  Well over 200+ yards rushing with Bazacas accounting for at least 170 yards.  I don't have official stats yet.

Wheaton D harassed Hope QB all day.  He had NO time to pass at all.  Again no official stats but at least 5 - 6 sacks, with twice as many hurries.  Swarming defense looked good.  It'll have to for next week.
