Redmen96

Joe

You should thank Billy for only pointing out your addition shortcomings.  I think there are others for both of us that are better kept unsaid.
We will always be REDMEN

Redmen 04, the last time Elmhurst beat IWU was 2 years ago at Elmhurst.  It was Paul  Krohn's last year as Head Coach at Elmhurst.
IWU/Elm  should be a battle of two mirror images.  Both teams struggled (at times) versus Chicago.  The battle of the Kudybas should be exciting.  I'm going Elmhurst 24 IWU 20 ish... I don't see the difference being more than 10 points either way.
Augie/NPU,  hey 3 cheers for North Park 3-0!  Unfortunately, I think it will be 3-1 after this week.  Augie I think is just too strong at this point.
The place to be is in the stands for the NC/Wheaton game.  Tough game to place a score to but I will go with Wheaton 21 NC 10,  until somebody shows they can beat Wheaton, I will favor the Thunder.
Millikin/Carthage  I like Nathan Wallick and the Big Blue  MU 35 Carthage 14
Isn't this exciting and what we have waited for 12 mos.  The CCIW can finally kick off the "heart"  portion of the schedule. :D

Haven't seen Carthage play since 1997.  The Carthage faithful seem to continue to be high on the defense.  I hear a lot about it being a blitzing defense.  What is the general consensus about this defense, is it a "gimmicky" sort of defense (ie like the pole-cat offense) or is the blitz built on timing and what the offensive formation dictates?  Thanks!

Great to see the redmen on the front page!!!
Pat that is a very good and very true article about the CCIW!
It's gonna be a great CCIW season!
HEY NORM, I LOST YOUR HAT! GO REDMEN!!!

I am a WIAC poster but trying to get some Info about two Augie Players.  What is going on with Matt Roe and Ziefert?  Any help?

Hardly a peep about North Central in that article about the CCIW.  My gut tells me that will change this weekend.

washdup-as discussed, won't be any who's  singing in whoville until the cardinal step up and beat someone when it matters. opportunity #1 is saturday night. if they do it, the recognition will come.

I do believe all the pressure to do this is squarely on the Cardinals not the thunder.

washdup,
That is probably a function of 2004 results and the last 5 years in Wheaton's case.  Who where the CCIW co-champs last year?  Carthage and Wheaton.  Granted NCC has more first place votes in the preseason coaches poll than even Wheaton, but preseason polls often don't show themselves as completely trustworthy - to say the least.  In the eyes of those who vote in polls and publish articles here and anywhere else regarding D3 football, what has NCC won?  They've improved dramatically over the past 4 years and are in position to take the next step.  But they haven't... yet.  Why do you think NCC is still ranked in the 30's in most polls?

NCC will get significant "print" and will jump in the rankings if they beat Wheaton and then continue to do so over the remainder of the year.  Recall back to last year, was there much Carthage coverage after 4 weeks?  Carthage really didn't start getting much recognition until several weeks into the CCIW schedule.

Besides... NCC is listed as the game of the week, so they are getting some recognition. :)

I am soooo sick of hearing about North Central!! Beat someone and then talk about it! At least Carthage and its fans can talk. They won the conference and beat Wheaton along the way. It will come down to those two schools and I'll even throw in a tough Auggie opponent as a contender. But NCC has been one of the doormats of this conference along with Elmhurst and North Park for as long as I can remember. So lets talk about how good they are (NCC) after they beat Wheaton, If they have the grapefruits to do it!!!

zorbadagreek

Oh, and by the way, redman96 and redman04, why are you two comparing sizez on a message board? Wouldnt you two rather get a room? Since redman96 wont be coming to homecoming maybe redman04 can hook up with redman44!! How do you like them apples??

zorbadagreek

here are my picks for the weekend
Millikin over Carthage 21-14
Wesleyan over Elmhurst 28-14
Augustana over North Park 35-21
wheaton over NCC 49-35

zorba,

Welcome to the CCIW board.

If you go to Post Patterns, General Football, there is a board called Pick-Em's.  In Pick-Em's there is a CCIW board.  You will see how we've setup the picks... we've shifted to a Confidence Pool format, where you specify points on how confident you are about the outcome of each game - 4 down to 1.
Wheaton Football: CCIW Champs: 1950, 1953-1959, 1995, 2000, 2002-2004, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2019

First of all, props to Mugsy for being so patient with explaining the directions to the CCIW pick em's board and how it works.

Second, North Central with get its due with a win over Wheaton and then continued success.  Until then they will be a team with great potential and some wins over lesser teams.

We will always be REDMEN

Make that a minus three for karma redman96, because you have none! Did you actually play at Carthage? Is 96 your number or year you graduated? Better hope its your number, cause if its your year of graduation, that would put you in the 92 season when you guys were the worst team in the nation. 0 and 9 I believe. Just relax and let me know how your date goes!!
