Mr. Ypsi

Aw, usee, you beat me to it!  Hey, folks, he's currently tied for 13th.  Even I am ahead of him, and I last saw a CCIW football game in 1969! ;D ;) :P

Can you quit putting the hex on us?   :P

there is no hex. I am just right a lot. I told you NCC would lose to Wheaton and they did. I said elmhurst would lose to NCC and they did. stick with me kid.

I just wish you were more emphatic about a Wheaton win over Augie.

I hope you all realize I was kidding about being right a lot. just look at my place in the pickems to see the proof of that.

To be fair I thought Wheaton would handle Augie pretty good. At least I was hoping so. As I mentioned in my posts before that game that an undefeated conf champ was our only hope in the playoffs since augie got beat by BW so handily. I hope I am wrong now.

Yup, I knew you were kidding and yes I do recall you were rather confident Wheaton would beat Augie.  I was being impish in implying that if you had stated so even more forcefully, perhaps Wheaton would have won.   :P

It's looking more like the rain due on Saturday is going to reach the Elmhurst area right around gametime. That could have an effect on the outcome because both teams like the throw the ball.  EC's Cooley Jr, Young, Veldhuis, and IWU's Ceisel and Musselman.

Well, it seems my problem is solved.  I just don't see anyone stopping Augie from this point on.  Believe me, I'd love to be wrong.  ;D

What your not giving Carthage a chance?  ;) I know it's hard to give Carthage a chance. Augie is the only team that I didn't beat during my 4 years of playing. Carthage has to play a near perfect game to win this one. I hope they do.

I'd love to see Carthage beat Augie, because, like RedmenFB44, they're the only team i didn't beat in the four years I played.  >:(  Here's to hoping for IWU and Carthage to be victorious.

RMFB44- CLC plays North tonight, I predict a slaughter.

On a side note, how about those Cardinals last night?  Even though I'm a Cubs fan in my heart, those Cardinals played a great game last night and came through in the clutch.  I am a Tigers fan though (was just old enough to root for sports when i lived there).

I never beat Wheaton or IWU, but We did beat Augie!!!  That was one of the highlights of my college playing days!
HEY NORM, I LOST YOUR HAT! GO REDMEN!!!

I am going to try to get the the NPU/wheaton game this weekend. If its a blowout I may try to go over to the 2nd half of IWU/elmhurst.

I think that either Carthage or North Central could beat Augie.  I would place my bets on NC having the greater chance, but Augie has shown they are beatable.  Their 2 losses and Wheaton's comeback prove that IMO.  Granted, I don't think that Carthage's Offense is anywhere near Wheaton's, but Augie is a beatable team.  North Central's D basically shut down Wheaton for a half so we know they can compete and we know they have a potent offense.

and I agree, I think NC will beat Augie and hope for Carthage or Elmhurst to pull an upset so NC can make it to the playoffs again

I would have to say no to the upset hopes in the second half of your statement.   ;D  I wouldn't necessarily agree with the first part, but think that NC has the best shot of beating Augie in the 4 remaining games.

Redmen93

I was also on that team that beat Augie, the only team in 30 some years to do that.  Rucks did what he could with NPU, which is not a big draw school.  He has done great things at Carthage and I was lucky to have played for him.  I too was there pre and post Rucks and the pre Rucks made  North Park look like Michigan.  He instills confidence and demands the best.  Don't be surprised if they beat Augie this weekend.

I am assuming you mean NCC beats augie and then hopes for a carthage/elmhurst win over wheaton. that would certainly do it. I would have no problem with NCC as a cciw rep in the playoffs.
