My HS Alma Mater Prospect is taking on Jacobs out of the Fox Valley Conf.  this evening.   While I think Jacobs is a good ball club and they upset Belvidere, I think my Knights will do me proud by the time the knights over. (no pun intended  :o )

Tailgater-- you should be PROUD of your Tailgating at Carthage (and away sites) because it is NOT let's drink and get all boozed up.  The Carthage tailgate led by Tailgater is a great way to come together and appreciate the true meaning of football.  Rated G  for Good food and G good times.

TrueAugieAlum-- I don't think I need to remind you what happened to Elmhurst former Baseball Coach when he tried weakly to "disguise" himself as a poster when even an infant could tell it was him.
I don't think you are a coach and/or faculy.  I think you are more likely a player's Father.  But why the disguise and the childish game of "who am I?"
Most of us here are former players that recall all the heart we put into our respective teams during our college years on the field.

It may be rated "G" until I get there!   ;D

I look forward to going to the game!  It should be a good game!
HEY NORM, I LOST YOUR HAT! GO REDMEN!!!

Redmen04-- After tailgating with RG  prior to the EC/Car game,  that was the first time I have ever gone on the "air" with a little (adult beverage) in me.  I know Harry never did a game without the alcky in his system.  I had to make sure my "thinking cap" was still on straight so I don't say something I normally wouldn't.  :D
Tailgater and his friends do a real nice job with their preps and tailgates.

Thanks Jaybird. I know you understand our concept of pre-game celebration having  joined in. We do have our libations, but moderation is always the key to a good spirited time. ;D

Rick, do you tailgate for Basketball games too?  :P  If so, you know who to call as your favorite Elmhurst/Carthage backer.  ;D

I would imagine that you have to be mighty hearty to tailgate in bball season! :D

Mr. Ypsi

And, I suppose, if someone brought an RV (and used the term 'tailgate' somewhat loosely)! ;D

RedmenFB44

A must win for both Carthage and Wheaton. Should be a great game in Kenosha.
It's REDMEN not RED MEN

Who are some of the players that I might want to watch tomorrow especially the linemen.  I agree it should be a great game and both teams should have a better idea of how good they are.  May I suggest looking at Studebakers pass rush and his swim and push pull technique.  He also is what I refer to as a slippery lineman, who is able to slip between double teams.  Pete Ittersagen may be getting rusty, as I can't remember the last time someone has thrown a ball near him.  The hype may be getting overzealous.   He is a great player but I can't understand completely avoiding him.  He is one of the hardest hitters especially for his size.  His hits can be heard.  Carthage usually has some great linemen and I'm looking forward to the strategies played out on the line.

Watch for #66 Glassman, left tackle (2nd team All-CCIW last year) and #58 Vuturo, right offensive guard (4 year starter & will set Carthage record for most consecutive starts). The Center #59 Keil is also a very capable and versatile lineman as he can and has played all the line possitions. For that matter #77 McDonald RT and #67 O'Conner LG are also pretty decent. This is a full senior line playing in their last home game. I think they want to leave an impression with Kenosha fans. They will have their hands full today as they will need to be at the top of their game. I understand the Freshman QB, Danley (Wheaton-Warrenville South) may be starting, not totally sure thou.

dansand,

These defensive numbers are sick!  0.8 per rush?  5 takeaways a game?  5.6 points per game?  You only need a below average offense with those numbers, because you'd be operating on short fields due to the turnovers and you only need 6 points for a win.  Wow...
