I have to say compared to when I was playing it is quite sobering to look at the official CCIW page and see Carthage, Elmhurst, and North Central at the top.

Wow   it kind of hits you pretty hard

Anybody else take great joy in seeing this:

I know I do!

Auggie Alumni and fans,
Would you mind giving me some running and passing stats? Also some individual stats of some of the Auggie players? Im just curious and im a big stat guy. It should be a great game between the auggie run game and the carthage run D. Im looking forward to be at this game first hand on Saturday.

Thanks

GO REDMEN!!!
It's REDMEN not RED MEN

Augustana (3-1, 1-0) vs. Carthage (4-0, 1-0)
Elmhurst (4-0, 1-0) vs. North Park (3-1, 0-1)
North Central (4-0, 1-0) vs. Illinois Wesleyan (1-3, 0-1)
Millikin (3-1, 0-1) vs. Wheaton (3-1, 0-1)

a few predictions.......

North Central lets down a little bit after the big W against Wheaton.....and maybe looking ahead to Carthage?....but still manages to beat IWU by double digits after an early scare.

Elmhurst gets a challenge from North Park but pulls away in the second half.

Wheaton bounces back and wins big over Millikin.

Carthage scrapes by Augie.....wins by less than a TD....setting up a great offense/defense matchup against North Central in Naperville.
You win! You always do!

Well I'll just make it easy.

1660 rushing yards for Augie thus far.  Guzman 465 rushing yards in 4 games; Kuzniar 350;Roe 205; McDowell 185; several others under 100.

129 passing yards total all season to Anthony, Sebby, and Kuzniar.

Total Offense 1789

Redmen 96, I am a huge CUBS fan.  I only mentioned the Sox b/c of the 1983 conf. championship link.  When it boils down to Red/White Sox, I favor the Red Sox b/c I idolized Wade Boggs batting and liked Ted Williams.
Great to see some new faces at the top of the CCIW. There was a time when I played we feared IWU and others, now it's just another day in the CCIW.  Bring your A game or you will get beat.
Elmhurst guns for their first 5-0 start since 1981.  I believe that was under the To Beck era (I'm at work so I will have to go back and check).
Early predicts   EC 35 NPU 7  Augie 24 Car 17  NC 42 IWU 10  Wheaton 21 MU 7
VOICE OF THE BLUEJAYS '01-'10
CCIW FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS 1978 1980 2012
CCIW BASKETBALL CHAMPIONS 2001
2022 BASKETBALL NATIONAL RUNNER UP
2018  & 2024 CCIW PICK EM'S CHAMPION

Pat
Will you be covering any other CCIW games this year?  I know you have to spread it out, just wondering.

In your opinion, is the CCIW one of the more competitive conferences this year?

Redman04, why all the ties? Does the CCIW not believe in overtime? :)

Keith and I are based in Washington, D.C., so we do not have any other CCIW games on our regular-season schedule. I count myself lucky to have seen three CCIW teams this season (saw Augustana at Catholic, cheapest trip of the year for me).

The CCIW is always one of the more competitive in terms of strong. In terms of competitive where anyone can beat anyone, it's not the most competitive this year but it's up there. Annually, that conference is the WIAC.

Ties?  Are you talking about records from the past?  If so I believe that the CCIW started having overtime in the 96 season.  I am not 100% on that, but pretty sure.

Don't know why they list the records that way?   ??? That is the way that the way that the CCIW page lists records.  I though that you were talking aboout all time records vs other CCIW teams.

Mugsy

I suspect the code to show records may be shared by other sections of the CCIW website that deal with sports that do have ties.  Case in point, soccer.
Wheaton Football: CCIW Champs: 1950, 1953-1959, 1995, 2000, 2002-2004, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2019

do you know what year they stoped having ties?  I am pretty sure that 95 was the last year, because Carthage tied NCC that year and there hasn't been a tie since

washdupcard

Wow, what a comeback for NCC.  Having not been at the game, it sounds like turnovers were the story.  Did Chupp miss the receivers...or were they good plays by the Cards secondary?

I am a little nervous about this weeks game at IWU.  Its sandwiched between a huge win and the Carthage game (which is now bigger than the Wheaton game).  Hope the Cards don't have a let down.

Cardalum...what was the questionable play calling on NCC's part?

Pat Coleman

Overtime for college football was put in for 1996.

That's pretty silly software coding, then. Should be flexible enough to allow for the lack of ties in football and basketball. Does anyone follow those sports? :)
