Thanks for "picking at the scab" and keeping this going.   I'm done with the topic!

Personally, I'd rather talk about some huge games this week - Carthage vs. Augie, Wheaton vs. Millikin.  Does Elmhurst go 5-0?

mugsy- I am not picking at anything. someone presented something not factual and i corrected it. happens all the time. just because you want there to be peace and love on earth doesn't mean we have to let inaccrate information pass through. this is a message board not a church service my brother. by responding you in fact don't let this go, you perpetuate it. I weighed in on another post, corrected what i perceived to be wrong and finished. you decided to wax poetic on what is good and true and perfect in the world.....go right ahead and good luck with that.

I hope this doesn't "upset" you and cause you to rethink your Karma voting procedure.

I think its a no brainer Elmhurst goes to 5-0, good for them because they might finish 5-6 with their schedule.

augie carthage has the most intrigue. I am seriously thinking about going to every carthage game the rest of the way just to see their defense play!

Cardalum and interested Norm bashers:

I think the double reverse pass was 2001 in Bloomington...I remember being there (yes I was intoxicated)....after the Game, Coach Wayne of NCC (Very large 300+lb  D-Line Coach who is a Prison Guard) literally was about to rip off Norm's head and punt it through the goal posts.  I believe there was also a shouting match between the coaching staffs during the 4th Quarter...it was ugly.  The former NCC coaching staff hated Norm...there were years of issues between them.

With all that said...IWU was never the dirtiest team I played against.

Hands down it was Carthage.  There was a game my senior year where a player of ours was punched in the junk (very much on purpose) twice in the same half.  I also remember someone trying to break my finger in a loose ball pile.

You reacted just as I expected you too - a smite.  Feel free to be critical, confrontation and negative. 

I don't expect there to be "peace and love" on this board, as it would be immensely boring if that was the case.  I wasn't intending to be preachy, I was just suggesting a different use of time for topics of discussion - the current games of the week instead of rehashing "he said/you said", "your coach is a bum" that results in NOTHING positive.

Personally I think that Augie will win this week. Others have said that recently the defense has been Augustana's downfall.  So far, Carthage has put up ok numbers offensively (with the exception of Benedictine which deserves and asterisk imho), but nothing that has blown anyone away ala NCC and Wheaton.   Therefore, the big battle will be between the vaunted defense of the Redmen and the always steady, always the same offense of the Vikings.  Should be a good one, but I think Augie comes out on top.

mugsy- As i mentioned i am not rehashing just trying to be a purist on correct information. You can certainly choose not to join in (you did choose to participate) but please don't "smite" others because they may be interested in discussing a topic that doesn't interest you. just because you don't see a conclusion/answer/positvie conclusion doesn't mean it can't shouldn't be discussed. There is nothing wrong with confronting people with truth. in fact it is the road less traveled and it is far too easy to let inaccuracy pass in the name of harmony.

BTW Mugsy, I have nothing but postive "Karma" for you.

I am going out on a limb and going with North Park this weekend.  They have played Elmhurst tough continously and as jaybird pointed out, their last victory did come against the Bluejays. Besides, with a victory over IWU, there might be a little overlooking taking place.  The common opponent of U of C was very similar in final score.

In some cases, "correct information" is in the eye of the beholder - especially as it relate to interpreting the intent of someone's actions.  While I may have an opinion on it, it is not for me to judge. It is a dangerous area to go.  IMO...

You are right, I have no right to decide what is discussed here and will make NO further effort in the future to suggest what should be discussed and what shouldn't.  I get burned everytime I even go there (I should have already learned my lesson).  I'll just refrain from responding to any topic I choose, just as others can expound on any topic they choose.  Once again... I'll recuse myself to only things I can add too and avoid "waxing poetically".

you bring up a good point. I should clarify that I was correcting the circumstances listed by DD in the game from '96(without going into detail and "rehashing"  ). I agree that i included my interpretation of those events (although anyone with a brain would have come to the same conclusion as me, right?  )

I for one am done, unless i have to defend my karma!!

can we all just get back to applauding each other now?
