Speaking of Mascots, I was baby sitting my Cousins and saw a special on Slugs on Animal Planet.  There is a High School in California with the nickname Banana Slugs.  Their Mascot is a 8 foot tall Banana Slug.  
" And here come your Fight'n Banana Slugs"  
Glad my nicknames were hs Knights and college Bluejays.  Whew!

I started "work" the day after I graduated back in 2002 and what a shock!  At 3:30 that day, my body and mind was telling me to start strapping the pads on and get ready to practice, when in reality I was still sitting in an office training seminar.  Yes, I think we all miss the good ol' days of college and athletics.

Thats why i unleash my competitive juices in court every day!  Thank god i have an outlet.

Congrats to the all conference selections.  Just looking at the CCIW website and saw back in 2003 that there were 2 coaches of the year.  Kind of surprised me that there wasn't 2 or 3 coaches of the year this year.  Checked in the football guide and couldn't find any specific prohibition to this practice, outside of this generic language:

D. Coach of the Year: Football coaches will select a "Bob Reade Football Coach of the Year" at their regular fall meeting. (Quote is on page 5)

why not 8 coaches of the year. they all try hard. lets honor everybody......this kind of dilutes it. I also don't agree with having 12 or 15 first team selections for 11 spots. its too many and makes it insignificant. 

I think you only see a CO-COY or DPOY or OPOY when the voting is tied among the coaches. If there is a clear winner of majority votes you won't see a CO-anything. this simply means the coaches all thought swider was the best choice this time around. both may have been deserving but the coaches voted for 1.

The coach of the year is done with a silent ballot, meaning it could have been 5 votes Swider, 3 votes Thorne, you never know.  I wouldn't say that "the coaches all thought swider was the best choice this time around".  It had to have been the majority though.

The preseason ranking by the coaches was Augie-NCC-Wheaton. So, clearly, Wheaton overperformed based on the expectations of the schools. I have no problem with naming Swider as COY. But Thorne has probably been a contender each of his  five years at NCC.

Wow you guys are sharp!  I am impressed. I  leave to go do some errands today and I find that you all have responded with the correct school.  I knew it was in CA, and how fitting it is a D-3 school!  Perhaps they will be doing some "sluggin" this year in bball.

Karma Collectors!  Now that was pretty funny!  I was think Fo-Jo-No.  Perhaps we can combine the 2 into Fojono's Karma Collection Inc.

I don't think any school will change head coaches or personnel.
