Did you know that according to the Chicago Sun Times, Kam Kniss ranks 10th all-time in Division III total offense with 10,533 yards?  What a career he has had and what a loss he is going to be to the Cardinal Program.

Huge Loss, but celebrate his accomplishments.  It will not be the same watching the cards without #6 back there

Greg Sager-- One other interest note (Biological) on Banana Slugs.  They have an enzyme that protects them on their skin from predators.  Say a Bullfrog or other predator bites them,  the predator will receive a poison from the Slug's skin which causes their mouth to get engulfed with poisonous saliva in a reaction.  This saliva can eventually lead to suffocation and death.  Just one of the "protective mechanisms" the Banana Slug has.
Somebody mentioned the Fischer Bunnies already. That was one of my favorites in IL.
Elk Grove HS  Grenadiers
Coal City  Coalers  which I believe is the only one named Coalers in the Country!
WLC's accomodations are very nice and very roomy.  It is a big complex of Watertown Plank Road in Milwaukee.  Very spacious!
I think those of you who are going to visit for the first time will be very impressed.

Is he planning on playing overseas or has he had any Arena or NFL looks??

On a matter of ridiculous nicknames, here are a few of my favorite Illinois high school nicknames.

Teutopolis High School - The Wooden Shoes
Fischer HS - The Fightin' Bunnies  :o
Pekin HS - Formerly known as the Pekin Chinks, to honor their sister city in China.  They are now the dragons.

Ah yes, the Fisher Bunnies.   That town must just want attention because the Fisher Jr High mascot used to be the Scotties.  (I think the jr/sr high are combined now)   Awesome flag, orange with a solid black Scottie Terrier ::)

Almost forgot about the Monticello Sages as well

On a side note, I've driven through Watersmeet in the UP of Michigan.  Talk about a one horse town...

Cant forget the FREEBURG MIDGETS,   It feels like one is hanging from my necklace.

I know the girls teams for Teutopolis as the Lady Shoes

But on a more relevant topic
I think
Wheaton 35
MSJ 17

NCC 31
CUW 20

To me, the greatest difference or "edge" that North Central has in this matchup is a Veteran Quarterback that has been there before.  Kniss knows what it takes to win the "big game" and remembers the sour taste losing to Capital felt like in 2005.  I think he wants to go out a winner and make it to a possible rematch with Capital.  I have said all along that Revenge is a great motivator and the Cards win this one late in the 4th quarter.

One other note for those of you traveling up north to Milwaukee.  When you are approaching the town of Milwaukee from the south,  take the 894 ByPass.  94 in downtown Milwaukee is under construction and (at times) 1 lane.  894 will take you around the main "downtown" and reconnect with I94 going west towards Madison.  Merge 894 back into 94 and go west to Rt. 45.  Exit Rt. 45 and then go North up to Watertown Plank Road.
Even though I am from Mt. Prospect, my Sister graduated from Marquette and my Elmhurst roommate was from Milwaukee.

Holy cow, he makes his presence known again!!  And why do you know about Jr High mascots??   :) ???

On a side note, your buddy Ontario Sneed (of Clinton Maroon fame) got a shout out on ESPN for having one of the longest runs against the Michigan defense this year.

Back to football and my predictions.

Wheaton rolls 37-20.

NCC smashes CUW 31-10.

So what are the predictions on the Wheaton and NCC playoff games this weekend?  (or is this already being discussed over on the North Region Playoff board?)

I predict:
Wheaton 38 MSJ 10

(MSJ has only scored 30 or more points twice)
(Wheaton has been over 40 points 4 times this season and over 30 points 7 times)

NCC 30 CU 34
(I have no reason for picking this other than I think CU has NCC's #)

Looks like someone doesn't like your prediction judging from the hit on your karma.

Here are some offensive lineman to watch if you are going to the Wheaton/MSJ game. Wergers in the LT and White is the RT.

#61 Steve Wergers 6'3'' 290lbs (Cincinnati, OH/Oak Hills), JR, 1st team HCAC

#76 Brian White 6'2'' 275lbs (Cincinnati, OH/LaSalle), JR, 2nd team HCAC

It will be interesting on how they will try to handle Studebaker, if they will pass block and cut him or use a TE/OL combo or a OL/RB combo. Either way I see Studebaker getting the best of them at least once.

They also have the OPOY with RB Mike Lovell and DPOY DL Matt Lawless along with 10 ALL-HCAC first team players and 3 second team ALL-HCAC players.

Nice work digging out this information!

I'm not good at picking points, but I predict Wheaton will handle MSJ comfortably and NCC will get their revenge against CUW in a close scoring battle.

Could have been someone from MSJ seeing as that prediction had them losing by 4 TD's!   ;D

Good point. Forgot about that possibility. I've modified my post. Thanks for pointing that out.

New Tradition

I don't know much about MSJ...what are the strengths and weakneses of their team?  Will these be easily exploited by Wheaton?
