A friend of mine who is also an NPU alumnus went to Benson H.S. in Omaha, NE. His high school's nickname was the Bunnies. He once showed me a picture of Benson's gym; it has a huge angry rabbit with fangs painted on the jump-ball circle at center court. It immediately made me think of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Careful what you say about the Benson Bunnie, Greg: "...the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!...  That rabbit's got a vicious streak a mile wide! It's a killer! He'll do you up a treat, mate. "  [http://www.mwscomp.com/movies/grail/grail-21.htm]

Also I heard from Tailgater that NCC played very poorly in the playoffs against Capital in a game in which they could have won. I hope they can go out this week and avenge an earlier season loss and establish themselves as a playoff team.

.........and the karma hits will continue, I have angered the Karma Gods

North Central lost to Capital last year 21-19, where they lost their top receiver and playmaker to an injury in the second quarter. Capital was a very good team losing in the next round to to Mount Union ((usee corrected me here). North Central could have played better but I wouldn't use the word poorly.

Actually, capital beat #2 seed wabash the week after ncc and then very nearly upset muc in the regional final. Ncc got 4 1st half turnovers from capital but only produced 10 pts from them.

Hscoach, if NCC and Captial meet in the second round ....

You'll see a much different NCC team than last season. Offensively, they still score a lot of points. But last season, they had receivers who went down the field a lot. This season, it's been more of a ball control offense especially as some of the young receivers get acclimated. They rely more on the run this season than last season. Holden was great for 4 years but Sulo has been a surprise this season. He could go over the 1000 yard mark for the season tomorrow.

Defensively, NCC relied on Radtke last season to cover the field. It's much different this year, but there is probably better quality through the unit and more depth. The secondary is deep and athletic, in my view. The strength though of late has been the rush defense. If Capital isn't a strong rushing team, oh well. The linebackers are athletic and have made keys plays, but aren't as fast as what Capital had on defense last season.

Hopefully, we'll be able to discuss this more next week.

We have a team near by called the Fair Haven Slaters.  Named after slate the rock produced by the local quarrys.  Used for flooring, roofing and pool tables.
We will always be REDMEN

Did you know that according to the Chicago Sun Times, Kam Kniss ranks 10th all-time in Division III total offense with 10,533 yards?  What a career he has had and what a loss he is going to be to the Cardinal Program.

Huge Loss, but celebrate his accomplishments.  It will not be the same watching the cards without #6 back there

Is he planning on playing overseas or has he had any Arena or NFL looks??

Doubtful at his size, although his game may be suited for Arena football (escapability). Kniss has been named to play in the Aztec Bowl.

I'm sure you hope that he is unable to play in the Aztec due to his playing in the Stagg Bowl.  Both games occur on December 16.

Taken in context as to how NCC played during the regular season last year, thier performance against Capital in round one was poor in my opinion. They came out sluggish and really never got any momentum going throughout the game. I felt NCC should have beat Capital whom I was also not all that impressed by during this game. Very good team yes, but not better than NCC. Can't use injuries as excuses. Everyone has them by this point of the season.

Where can I find the roster for this years Aztec Bowl?

Wheaton has posted a preview of the game with MSJ on their website.  There is a neat comparision chart down at the bottom of the page.  Appears as if MSJ is a strong running team with a good defense.  Wheaton appears to have more balance on the offensive side of the ball.  I was surprised to see that Wheaton had given up more points than the Lions, but some pundits might attribute that to overall conference strength.

College Football has lost one of it's legendary Coach's today with the passing of Bo Schembechler. I'm not a Michagan fan, but Bo was one of those guys that was as big as the game. Football fans will always remember him and the great teams he put on the field every year. At beer-30 I'll be toasting one for Bo!

The official answer is that the roster isn't finalized until a few days before the game. But, I either saw a story yesterday in the Daily Herald or the Naperville Sun possibly that stated that Kniss had been invited to play.

Regardless if you are/are not a Michigan fan (which I will tell you I am not),  you have to love the spark, energy, and enthusiasm by which Bo Schembechler brought to the game of football.  He ranks 3rd (I believe) in all time wins in the Big 10 behind AA Stagg (U. Chicago) who is at the top.
Bo will forever be connected/linked to Woody Hayes at Ohio St. and how ironic that this Saturday the two will be competing.  I hope, and would assume that OSU would take a moment of silence to honor Bo, even though he was an arch rival.
