"JB, you sure know how to hype a game, the big boys at the networks have nothing on you.  NCC/Capital should be a great game..."
MidwestFB,  thank you.  I do look forward to any college event.  As a former player/commentator, you have to get excited for a game.  You can feel the electricity and when the game(s) is close, you can feel the tension, nailbiting effects.  If you don't get hyped up with this setting, then you have to find a different hobby like sewing, where there is nothing to get too excited about except seeing the needle going up and down.  :P
"It takes way too long to get to Saturday again"  Redmen96 I agree with you, especially as a player and in-season.  Monday mornings hit you like a slap in the face, bringing you back to "reality" and (after college) work!

MidwestFB-- I just read your reply on the IBFC Board, very funny!  I don't know what is going on with those posters and their negative Karma.  They don't seem to "like" one another.  At least on our board, even though we have our favorite team(s), we don't just pound away at each other's Karma.

How many people from Wheaton make it to the games in Alliance each year?

Redmen96  Here are Mt. Union's Home Attendances in 2006

Heidelberg   3832
OH Northern  6832
Capital   4132
John Carroll 4572
Hope (NCAA's) 1624

Interesting the lowest attendance was in the NCAA's.

I logged in using my handle and saw my ranking as of now.  Where do I see the overall rankings and who is in front of me?  Does that have to be done through email?

I was just wondering if Wheaton's fans travel well for this game.  I went to Alliance in 04 to watch Carthage play and there were more people in the stands from Carthage than there was at home games at Art Keller Field when I played in the 90s.

Wheaton - congrats on your win today. Good thing that next weekend is Thanksgiving. That gives most of us an extra day of travel (Friday). With wins,  neither of us will have to travel too far in two weeks!

Win or lose you won't be going far from home in two weeks  ;)

North Central @ Capital-- This is going to be a good ol' fashioned slugfest.  You have arguably the best QB in D-3 History

Mark, seriously -- you have to learn not to do this if you're going to be doing national games for us. You have to resist the urge to boil down 35 years of D-III history into the context of the 12-15 teams you've seen.

With both qb's being so wonderful for their conferences and d3 football, with their numbers, with the show that both have been known to put on, with the exciting playoff atmostphere, not to mention the fact that there is potential for vengance for last year's first round matchup, I don't see why this can't be billed as "arguably the best d3 quarterback match up in d3 history..."  I'm with JB...  I know I'm still young, new to the board, and ignorant of much of the history of D3 football, but this sounds like a good one to me.  Out of curiosity, can anyone think of a game when 2 legendary D3 quarterbacks have played eachother in such a high stakes contest?

Quick footnote regarding "great" DIII QB's... MUC's Bill Borchert accounted for over 200 career touchdowns passing & running while attending Mount during the mid-90's.  Though records break at some point...no one at any collegiate level has ever been as prolific as Borchert at the QB position.

I don't think they counted playoff stats at that time either.

kirasdad:

The NCAA can count however they want to...the FACTS are that while Bill Borchert was wearing a Mount Union jersey...playing in real games winning real national championships he accumulated real statistics and they total over 200 touchdowns.  Borchert should be inducted into the College Football HOF and I would like to see a push from the DIII world to get him the honor and respect he deserves.
