Usee,

Belazzini is a preseason 2nd team by Don Hanson,  (Ok, it isnt d3football.com but what is??) leads the conf. in Ints, averages 5 tackles a game and he doesnt get a look?
I think he has to get some votes from D3football for sure and will probably be 1st team on Hansons team.

Stuedemann could be an all-american tight end right? isnt that where he lines up ?  :)

It doesn't matter what stats anyone leads in the conference. go on the ncaa website and look at national stats. better yet, go on the websites for the top 10 seeds in the playoffs and see their top players and how ours compare. thats who we are up against. It stiff competition. doesn't mean someone will or won't get AA, just means there are a lot of good players outside the cciw.

If NC goes to 3rd Round and happens to upset Mount or Wheaton, I just dont see the people voting giving us only one all-american (kniss)  thats all.  I could be very wrong.  I think since Bellazini and Kniss were both 2nd team all-american preseason on Lindys, their stock hasnt dropped with their performances this season, so they will probably be 2nd or 1st team on Lindys.  But there are alot of all-american teams and I know they Rarely  mirror each other.

Go Cards and Thunder this weekend!

Does anyone know if there would be a chance of tickets being sold out for the Mt Union game since they sell tickets in advance?  Any hotel suggestions on the cheaper side?   Any other travel suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

If you are not one for driving, when we went to see Carthage play MUC in 04 we took a train.  I would recommend it highly!  We boozed the whole Friday train ride up.  Stayed in a hotel Friday night.  Then on Saturday, Tailgated, watched a very good football game, Partied a several bars, went to an "Adult Establishment" and caught the train back to Chicago at 2:00 Am.  Slept the whole time on the train and when we woke up, we were in Chicago in time to watch the Bears, before catching a train to the Suburbs!  A good time was had by all!!!!   8)
Right reidy?

Although they are both great players, I believe, (and maybe i am wrong) that Kniss is the only All-American.

Conference Call with Coach Kehres and Coach Swider:

Not too much said by Coach Swider here.  MUC's coach had a lot to say about Wheaton and also said they play two QB's.  Could we see a playoff game where 4 QB's see significant playing time?

This only includes snippets from both coaches, not everything they said.  I'm sure Swider had other comments about MUC.

Yes, you will see 4 QB's playing in this game.

There's no Lindy's postseason team. All of those magazines simply pretend to know something about Division III in the preseason and then disappear.

Seriously? That is pretty funny.

Looking over MT unions roster I find it similiar to the U of Mich roster in that their speed guys are from Florida and their power guys are from Ohio and Penn.   One guy from Illinoise.

Anyone driving out to Alliance?  There are cheap fares on United to Canton, but the schedule isn't very conducive to enjoying the overall experience of the game.

I'm contemplating it.  I've been checking with others I know to see if they are going and I haven't heard back yet.

The 2 times I have gone out to Alliance for the playoff games I was fortunate enough to catch a ride on a chartered, private jet.  Really sweet!  We left at around 8am, the flight was a little over an hour long, drove about 40 minutes from the airport to Alliance, watched the game, and then flew back home by 7pm or so on Saturday night.  Doubt I'm going to have this option this time around. :-\

Talked to Coach Swider this morning and he is ready to go, as are the Thunder.  I always love talking to Coach Swider and sharing our family stories, etc.  He knows it is an uphill battle on Saturday but he is marching into Alliance with the thought of pulling out a W.  Yes, he knows about mighty Mount and how truly fast and awesome their team is, but he is also very proud of his team.   Should be an exciting game on Saturday.
Chupp is Wheaton's QB and will (I would guess) play most, if not all the game.  In the playoffs, IMO  you need to have 1 QB and only play the second/third QB if there is an emergency.
Congratulations to Studebaker and Ellingsen on their record tying day last weekend vs. MSJ.  17 1/2 sacks this year for Studebaker.  I am going to go out on a limb and say he will break the record this weekend in Alliance.  ;)
