Are both Carthage and Auggie healthy for this weekend?? I know they both got banged up pretty good this past weekend.

Just a comment about NP tailgaters out at Augie...there were a few NP students that tailgate at every game.  If you count all the students, team parents, etc there were probably more than 30 but certainly fewer than 100.
That's what made it so hard to understand why the small town Pr*&^% of an AD felt like he had to come to the NP side of the field and eject half a dozen NP fans.  They were bothering no one and were having fun with the rest of us that were there.  He brought Barney Fyfe and his brother Wally and escorted the students out.  Admittedly the fans had enjoyed a few adult beverages, but they were of age to do that.  Surely there were some Augie fans who had enjoyed the afternoon in that manner.  It just seemed goofie that he would make one trip to our side of the field to do that.  VERY SMALL TOWN AND SMALL MINDED.  Just my two cents.

Wolfe:
Just out of curiosity when did the NP fans get kicked out of the game? I was at the game and didn't see any of that happen. To make things fair, there have been plenty of times when Augie fans have been kicked out of games as well. So don't feel like the so called "Pr*&^%" of an AD just picked on NPU.

The CCIW continues to change and not just in football - North Park beat Wheaton in men's soccer tonight 1-0.  North Park had defeated Wheaton last year as well so that's 2 years in a row against Wheaton, which a CCIW first.

Augiedogie - It was before half time.  Nobody would have noticed it because nothing was happening for anyone to notice.  He just walked over with the cops and kicked out 6 NP fans.  You saw how many of us there were.  Why even come over there?  Maybe he thought we were going to riot!!

red99

redman04, what are your plans for Sat? Are you still coming to the game?

I have to agree with tailgater about the parking at Carthage. I was there yesterday and it is a mess because of the Sheridan road construction. I saw more campus security driving around yesterday than I did in four years of going up there to watch football and baseball games. I would get there early and hope for the best.

After four years of some serious tailgating, just remember to pour whatever you are drinking into colored plastic cups, not clear, to avoid the obvious. No harm, no foul.

Are the new restrictions a possible result of some of the recent success of the Redmen?  Carthage always had decent crowds in the mid 90's (even though some of the teams were not as competitive).  However, especially with a big game as this weekend there might be even more people there than usual.  Larger crowds do have a greater possibility of presenting problems of an unruly nature.

Mat, I believe the enforcement in the parking lot is because of the construction on Sheridan Rd. It is a mess getting in/out of campus because of the lane closings. I know that it is a big game this weekend, but because of the time of the game and the distance the Augie fan base might not be as large as expected.

I dont know what happened to the pick'ems board but its not there so im gonna make my picks here.

Wheaton 4
North Central 3
North Park 2
Carthage 1

Wheaton will have a chip on their shoulder and blow up Millikin. Final Score: Wheaton-38 Millikin-13

North Central continues its winnging ways over IWU. Final Score: NCC-42 IWU-20

North Park gets their first conference win in forever thanks to a good passing game and solid defense. Final Score: NP-26 Elmhurst-14

Carthage is ready for this game. After a whole year of looking back on this game they want this game and they will get it. Final Score: Carthage-17 Auggie-15

GO REDMEN!!!
It's REDMEN not RED MEN

zorbadagreek

just wondering if the redmen are slowly starting to allow the #2 running back take over the rushing duties and giving namon the ball less? Also, are there any injuries to either team that could affect the outcome of the game??? ???

robertgoulet

haven't seen anyone mention this yet. North Central's Mario Smith got a little pub in the sun-times today. it's a little over halfway down the page, titled "Super Mario." that a boy, rio! i told you i'd buy you a drink when we were out saturday night, i still owe you! ha! ;D

irish- i will award you with Karma just for showing up on here. we need you more often.

the carthage Augie game is a battle of who shows up. if carthage figures out how to slow down the augie running game then the conference better beware because they will have shown tremendous flexibility in the styles of offenses they have shut down. that doesn't bode well for anybody else on their schedule. If augie runs through them like last year then we are looking at a similar result.

it looks like augie has solved some of its defensive woes from last year. not dominant or great, but adequate, which was a problem last year for them in the big games. all in all, we will know a lot more about how these two teams will fare the rest of the way after saturday in kenosha.

I think it will be a dogfight but augie will prevail. it is very difficult for the type of defense carthage runs to stop this type of offense. I think augies defense is solidified enough to handle the carthage O. I predict a medium scoring affair with the augie running game taking over the clock and the game late.

augie 21 carthage 17
