0-5 in Alliance. You want an "IF/MAYBE" scenario?? IF wheaton had beaten Augie, we would have hosted Capital last weekend and MAYBE we wouldn't have had to play in Alliance until this weekend.  :P

Or at all. :)

Congrats to Mount Union, St. John Fisher, Wesley, and UWW.
Will we see a rematch of last year?

What are some of your thoughts on the CCIW's chances in the playoffs if they weren't placed in the North Region every year?

in past years I think we would do well in other regions, partiuclarly the east. a few years back John Caroll went east as the OAC #2 and won the region, playing MUC in the final 4. It really depends on the year and the region. I think its safe to say the CCIW champ is almost always a top 15 team and usually a top 10 team. we have had years where our best team is a top 5 team and 2 or 3 of our teams are top 15. Including that its all speculation.

Can anyone tell me why the CCIW and WIAC don't play NC games against each other?
I mean, this year Whitewater had to play Azusa Pacific, a top NAIA team from California... It's crazy when some of the CCIW teams are an hour's drive away from whitewater. Can anyone explain?

SonsofThunder

That's a good question.  Both conferences have great history to them, and from top to bottom they are two of the best in the country.

I think the CCIW teams would fair much better if they were to play outside of the North Region.  Obviously the North contains the Pat Coleman named "800 lb. Gorrilla" in Mount Union a team that always finds a way to make the championship. With no disrespect intended,  my understanding is that the East and South Brackets are generally weaker year in year out.  Your thoughts?

thats not true. Augie and IWU have played WIAC teams regularly in recent seasons. I don't know the reasons it hasn't happened more widely but there are a lot of teams in the midwest and it obviously would have to agree w schedules.

Until the change this year (where in-region also includes the administrative regions), many potential WIAC-CCIW games would not have been in-region.  And the change probably came too late to affect this season's schedules.

I wouldn't be surprised if the number of WIAC-CCIW games increases in the future.

I heard the Gagliardi trophy is down to Kniss and Brehm from Alma with Kniss holding a slight edge. final votes were in on Friday and we should have the winner announced early in the week.

That would be an unbelievable boost to the NCC prgram if Kam were to win.  Brehm seems to have the better career stats, but Alma did lose four games this year.

I never thought that he had an actual shot to win.  What a tremendous honor if it happens.

Hearing rumblings of a staff shakeup at NCC.  Details I'm sure to follow later.

Any idea what happened?

Has anyone heard any more of the NCC coaching shake up that was posted about earlier?

Why not?  He has great career numbers, took his team to the playoffs two years in a row.  If you look at the list of contenders, him and the defensive player Kleppe from UWW were the only players whose teams were in the 2nd round of the playoffs.  After seeing the finalists, I was pretty confident he would be in the mix.

I guess it just seems weird for some NC alum who had to play under a different coaching staff and we are just beginning to a get a taste of the national spotlight and how good this program has got.

When was the last time a CCIW player did win the Gagliardi?   That might have already been answered

Does anyone know when All-Region Honors are going to be poster?  Who from the CCIW will be honored?
