Unfortunately Kmic has 2 more years to attempt to break this rushing record and potentially against a CCIW opponent. :-[

The guy has more yards rushing in seasons of playoff games alone than most have in a regular season career.  He has got to be closing in on 2000 yards rushing in playoff games alone.

Kmic set the record for playoff rushing yards last year with 1040. He's at 876 yards in 4 games this season. My math degree from NCC tells me that adds up to 1916 in his playoff career, so Mugsy was dead on (of course).  84 yards to reach 2000, 165 to break his own playoff record. Kmic has 2254 yards this season and a career total of 3473. With two years left (unless MUC finds someone better), he could finish with 8000 yards.

Should we be scared that this is even a possibility?  He's a great running back.

Scared, no. Awed, maybe.

As predicted I think by Mr. Ypsi (may have been usee), the OAC is about to surpass the CCIW in the number of pages. Is there some mind boggling thread we can engage in while the OAC engages in national championship discussion?

And, good luck to Kniss and Guzman in the Aztec Bowl.

I agree midwest...Unfortunatley, they're still playing and we're out.

Let's talk CCIW 2007.  Who's losing who, who's got some recruits that will make an impact(I know it's early), who's going to win it all?

Not sure if I was sticking up for the CCIW or accelerating the "heat" of the discussion from a sparkler to a flame thrower.  It's hard to logically discuss something when logic is ignored.

Probably came across as an arrogant jerk... :-[

Nah Come on Mugs....I read your posts...What you said was clear, concise, and needed to be said.  I've never seen someone post something so adimently about their own stats and disappointments with not being named to a a team.

In the IBC Golf Tournament, JR is off to a good start in his opening round at -5. I'm not sure if he will have the stamina to battle to the end, but he has shown the potential to post a record score by the time he completes the final round.

From a karma perspective, I come to CCIW to applaud. I go to IBC to smite.

Mugsy, CardinalAlum, I don't know why you engage in debate over there. You go there armed with facts and statistics and they try to beat you down with spitballs.

Tough to call what will happen in 2007, though I wish the season was to start in January!!  I am suffering from lack of d3football syndrome.  I look forward to the College Bowls, but I still miss good ol' d3 coverage.

The Stagg Bowl should be a great ball game between 2 very strong teams.
This is way too early, but here are some of my thoughts for 2007
Augie-  well, if you look at the trends, Augie always seems to find themselves in the Top 3 somewhere, and I don't see that being any different in 2007
Carthage- If they could avoid injuries they should be good.  2006 was tough to gauge, because I think they only played 1-2 games at full strength all year.
Elmhurst- wow, we lose a ton of great players on both sides. For our sake, I hope we get in a strong recruiting class and the Seniors-to-be keep the momentum rising, building on that 6-4 mark.  I am hoping for 7 (or more) wins, but it will be difficult in 2007.
IWU-  As I said before, I think IWU could be a sleeper team that could contend in the top 3 next year.  They just need to get some cohesion in their o and d lines.  They have the playmakers in Panno, Dunlop, and good receivers.
NC- They lose a few guys (most notably Kniss), but Sulo is promising and I think the Cards will still be in the top 4 somewhere.
NPU- Well, there is only 1 direction the Vikes can go, and I hope they can get a CCIW W in 2007.
Millikin- Losing Wallich hurts, but like Wheaton, they always seem to be pretty good and solid.
Wheaton-  My pick for 2007.  The Thunder have all the vital pieces coming back, the best D-Lineman in the CCIW (arguably nation) returning,  the Thunder will be good.

Arguing over there is "like puttin' lipstick on a pig..."  In the end, it still smells and isn't much to look at.   ::)

The main reason is probably due to the fact I haven't had CardinalAlum pickin' on me lately.  I'm use to being mocked and made sport of, but haven't had much of that lately.  Only 10 or so months until the Battle for the Bell...   :)

MidwestFB- you are right about those posters on the IBFC board. They are arguing over the silliest and most non-important issues you could imagine!  Next thing you know they will be arguing about whether or not Burt and Ernie could have played football for Sesame Street
I could see it now:  The Muppets vs. Sesame Street
Pos.   Muppets          SS

QB      Kermit              Ernie
RB       Gonzo             Burt
WR     Scooter             Big Bird
LB       Animal              Oscar the Grouch.

OK,  I need a hobby or a football game to watch.  Hehe

Jaybird- I have to agree with you about Wheaton being the very early favorite to win conference next year.

Wheaton will be returning almost every single starter from 2006 #1 CCIW defense.  Led by All-American Andy Studebaker, the DL will be tough again with Javier Almanza and Ben Kuenzle returning, both who have either started or seen significant playing time for the Thunder.  The LB led by All-Conference performer Jonathan Toal is completley back with 1st teamer Mike Mckinney, and MLB Steven Pagh(Sky is the limit on his potential).  Besides the loss of All-Conference performer Tim March, a very strong Defensive backfield returns led by Pete Ittersagen and Kirk Mckenney, junior Shane Woodward rounds out the returning starting cast.

The Offensive side of Wheaton will as it always is remain at the top tier of the CCIW.  Zach Ullrich will be at the helm of the offense replacing 2X all-conference performer Jeremy Chupp.  Wheaton will play 5 offensive lineman next season who have all started or been significant contributors on the offensive line.  The depth at receiving core for next year is bottomless.  Led by all-conference player Chris Fossum(probably shoulda been all-region) are numerous players who will contribute: Noah Dreyer, Matt Bradley, Brett Jackson, Alex Pokorny, and will be sophomore Danny Hindman.  Wheaton may struggle to replace All-Region pick Chaz Black(1100 yds. 9 TD's) and FB Brad Thornton.

Wheaton is going to be good.  They will improve on this past season's 10-2 mark.

P.S. Sue me...I'm Wheaton biased.
