I was just reflecting on how much more fatigue Wheaton coaches and players will have to deal with when they have to lug the Bell both to AND FROM Naperville. :P

Maybe if Swider would cut his hair, it wouldn't fatigue him as much!  :P

Quote from: matblake on December 11, 2006, 10:15:18 AMFinally, why all the hate toward the Raiders?  Sure, they win all the time, but they aren't arrogant like the Yankees or the University of Miami (who certainly didn't back up their arrogance this year).  Their teams have class and the coach talks about how happy he has been with his graduation rates.  Do I wish that someone from the North would be able to knock them off?  Sure, I would have loved to see Wheaton go down there and beat them after the multiple beat-downs that we have received, but until someone does, I am happy to have them representing our region.

Well said, MB.

Thanks GS.  My next goal is trying to get you to say that to me over on the BB Board.

Ok, now that my side has finally stopped hurting because of laughing at the CCIW v IBFC cage match I'll have to say that the effort of the CCIW posters was quite commendable.

For Wheaton's sake, I hope Ullrich does pick up where Chupp left off.  I think he will to and I think it is great that he was able to get snaps/series here in 2006, so he doesn't take the reigns cold.  No worries SOT/Mugsy

Ah, *** amount of days away from the 2007 LBBell game and the two sides are already taking shots.  That is great, what great football fans we have!

Speaking of the Thunder Schedule, I believe in 2008?  they are scheduled to play Concordia WI in their non-conference schedule.  No arguing that Wheaton hasn't been scheduling some quality teams in their non-confs.

2008 and 2009 non-conference schedule for Wheaton: Bethel, CUW and Hope.  All have been playoff teams recently.  No cream puffs there.

"no cream puffs there"  and I think Coach Swider prefers it this way.  He has told me many times that he likes to schedule teams that are at and/or better than Wheaton to get the Thunder prepared for the CCIW.  Seems to be working as Wheaton is/has been a 1-2 top tier team in the CCIW the last few years.

I'm a geek.  One simple Google of "Date Calculator", enter the NCC/Wheaton game date from 2007, and poof...  Only took 20 seconds total.

With all the IBFC talk referenced here I had to take a peak at their Board and see what was going on. Wow....what's in the kool-aid over there? I'm not sticking my thoughts into that quagmire. Mugsy, Cardinalalum, Pat and others, nice job trying to interject some logic over there.  There's no place like home (on the CCIW Board).  As there appears to be some players from the IBFC who are dissappointed with the lack of individual post season honors, I have a proposal to make to any and all IBFC players who feel they may have been over-looked, no SID or AD nomination necessary. You can send your own nomination directly to me in hopes of attaining selection to the coveted "Tailgater IBFC Specific-Region Team". Of coarse...there better be a significant amount of beer and brats in their stats for consideration. The more you can pack away the better your chances. I will accept tailgate supply offers in order to improve selection chances. ;D ;D

It wasn't a COMPLETE waste of time - it allowed me a free shot at you with a THANKS as the response! ;D

The Illini-Badger board is a must see, even if it is kinda like why we MUST rubberneck at multi-car crashes! ;)

I know that was probably un-called for, but I couldn't resist. Sorry in advance to anyone who may have been offended. I'm seriously fooling around. Any player would covet individual recognition. It is certainly disappointing when you know you deserve to be recognized and aren't. As Bill Gates said in a commencement speach " life isn't always fair, get used to it". This is a part of the maturing prosses for all individuals. Some never get it. If you can look at yourself and your effort, in what ever you are doing, and know you've done the best you could, no reward should be necessary. Be satisfied that you used your talent at its' best not just for yourself, but for your team or employer.

Now that we talked about Wheaton's 2007 squad, I am really curious about the future of the Titans.  I can't remember Illinois Wesleyan football ever being this bad.  Does anyone know what next year looks like for them?  I thought the conference was more fun when the Titans were competitive.
