JAYBACKER

Just got back from watching EC scrimmage UW-OSHKOSH . Kudyba is the guy -- Now of course you always view your favorite  through rose colored glasses---can't wait till 9/03/05.
roster is on website.

You guys will love this:    I went to Carthage and now live in Upstate New York.  Two kids come to my door yesterday selling magazines to raise money for a spring break trip.  The kid says they are traveling across the country as fast as they can.  During the conversation the kid says I am from Bloomington Illinois and I go to IWU, have you ever heard of it?  I happened to be wearing an old pair of REDMEN shorts.  I said listen kid today is not your lucky day you came to the only house on the east coast that isn't happy about you being a titan.  Then I sent them on their way.

Now I didn't have him leave to be a jerk, it was a mutual understanding.  He didn't try after he saw the Redmen shorts.
We will always be REDMEN

Mr. Ypsi

Now, now, Redmen96,

When stranded in alien territories, we CCIW folks should band together, not continue internal strife!!  ;D

In Kenosha (or even Illinois), by all means send him on his way; in NY, he is a fellow conference member!

All right a second Bluejay has posted Wow!  We are up to a 2 spot.  Yes, Kudyba is the main guy at QB for Elmhurst.  Ryan Freund is an improving QB and if needed, can help keep the ship afloat.  Civil War when EC plays IWU between the Kudybas.
Mugsy I like the Little Brass Bell Traveling Trophy.  Everytime I'm up in Wheaton's Pressbox I sit down and read about the trophy.  Interested story about it's significance if you get a chance to read it.
Redmen96 (of course I wasn't there to see this) but as a Salesman as my profession, I think that was pretty low.  I agree that CCIW family members should band together in the real world based on similar experiences during our college days.  There are 3 schools in the CCIW I don't particularly "like" however that doesn't mean that you carry that into other venues.

The other night a bald, fat man* appeared in the press box during the Cubs' seventh inning stretch.  I missed his intro so don't know his identity.  Given the commotion in my house, I didn't hear the entire interview, but I did hear him say Illinois Wesleyan and the "Central Conference of Illinois".

As a Wheaton grad, I love the story of the Little Brass Bell.  I think all traveling trophies add to the mystique of college football.

Not that the NCC vs. Wheaton game needed any more help from a rivalry or intensity standpoint, but the battle to ring "the Bell" and keep it for another year always kicked that game up a notch.

It's even more meaningful now that NCC is a favorite to take the conference title from Wheaton as well.  Oct. 1st should be quite the battle, as it was last year.

Titan Q

Please keep IWU senior co-captain Blake Schmied in your prayers.  This does not sound very good.

Titan Q,
I most certainly will.  I'll pass this onto to my family and friends to do the same.  Keep us posted.

Horrible news about the IWU player.

On a lighter note...NCC is ranked 11th Nationally in a new poll.

I'm sure this will be fodder for many.

Now remember the kid was not stranded.  He was selling magazines to go to Mexico for spring break.  If he were lost and starving that would be another story.  I then would have taken care of the CCIW boy.  For magazines lighten up.
We will always be REDMEN

Mr. Ypsi

Redmen96,

If he was selling magazines, the heck with CCIW loyalty - shoo him away!! ;)

BashDad

I join all others who are fans of D3 football in expressing my deep sorrow and hopes for a quick and full recovery to Doug Schmied.  His family, IWU team-mates, and IWU coaches are going through hell, not knowing yet if Doug will pull through this.  My thoughts and, I am sure those of other parents and relatives of D3 athletes, are with you.  Being from Indiana, I know full well August heat and humidity.  This year it has been even worse than usual. Hopefully, we will all know in a short while that, even though this was a very scary situation, Doug Schmied is now fine and going on with his living and learning.  Nothing is more important.
