-A Conference record of 143-1. Last conference loss coming in 1994. They have won 130 straigt since then.

2005 vs. Ohio Northern - 21-14 Loss.

My bad, don't know how I missed that one... must be the AWE factor.

Let me revise:

Since 1993:
9 National Championships (93,96-98, 00-02, 05-06)
213 Wins, 2 Losses (only 2 regular season losses)
Conference record of 142-2.
Of their 8 losses, only 2 during regular season, 1 in 2nd round of playoffs, 3 in the Semi-Finals, and 2 in the Finals
A 55 game winning streak, and a 54 game winning streak... the 2 longest streaks in all of NCAA

It's about time that Ittersagen started playing well.  I feel that he had an abysmal regular season, except for the Bethel game.

???

I think some on here would agree that Ittersagen probably had a better stat year last year.   But, you can't defend or intercept a pass that isn't thrown in your vicinity.  If your presence on the field makes teams scheme away from you then you are pretty effective.

I have only seen him play twice and he didn't have his best day against the Red Men this year.   He didn't need to!  Anyway, I am more impressed with his ability as a returner than as a corner and at 1st team all conference at both spots the coaches recognize what he does.

All,

I think its about time we stopped responding to a troll who clearly registered on here to post 1x and get a reaction.

That said the Ittersagen story this year has been recounted several times previously. He did not play up to his ability in my mind over the course of the regular season. But he was certainly one of, if not the top db in the CCIW during that time. Since then, in the playoffs, there is no doubt he has separated his play from others as both a db and a returner. He was awesome yesterday and will need to maintain that level of play next week to give his team a chance to compete in Alliance.

If you look back at the D3.Com top 25 from week #7 you will see:

1. Mount Union
2. Wisconsin Whitewater
3. Mary Hardin Baylor
4. Wheaton

That was right before wheaton went on a couple week sabbatical. They had some trouble getting back from that but now order has been restored!  ;D

hscoach, you're calling it a 30.5 point margin, and scamming us with a 'stern test' crack? :D

I'm being perfectly honest about them providing a stern test.  The final score is only one part of the equation.  My definition of providing a stern test involves the following:

1.  is the opponent well coached, plays precise and doesn't make unforced errors?

2.  can the opponent match Mount's intensity?

3.  can the opponent neutralize Mount's usual advantage at the line of scrimmage?

4.  does the opponent tackle well and not give up easy big plays?

5.  is the opponent's game plan and play calling well thought out and designed to win, not just keep it close.  Do they take chances when the situation presents itself and do they go conservative when needed?

6.  does the opponent make Mount "work" for everything they get?

7.  did the opponent make Mount play a full 4 quarters?

8.  final score

I believe Wheaton will easily do all of the first 6 things on that list and probably #7 too.  #8 will be determined.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I agree with this HSC. I would say the #1 reason Wheaton is 0-5 in alliance, however, is #3. They have been handled at least 3 out of 5x at the LOS. I think its closer this year than in some of those games but I am not confident by any means.

Wheaton College ended my career yesterday, unfortunately, but I wanted to give the Thunder the credit they deserved!!  They were a class act and had a great game plan.  I hope the Thunder can give Mount all they can handle and more next week!

Mugsy, the Wheaton women met their "Mount Union" in soccer in the national championship on Saturday - they were absolutely pounded by Messiah 5-0.  But a national runner-up position is nice way to end a season, and I guess we were the meat grinder for the past four seasons - what goes around, comes around, I guess...unless you are from Alliance.

Just wanted to add my hearty congrats to the Thunder for their great showing yesterday and becoming the 2008 North Region Champion.  The game scores were flashed on the scoreboard at the PERK so I was able to keep track while watching the Warhawks!  Very convincing win.  And yes, I am happy to say that I did pick Wheaton in the WIAC pick em's!   ;D  Thanks for all your insight and help.  Very few boards on here where you could go and get an unbiased scouting report but I knew that I could get one here.  Again, congrat to the Thunder players, staff and fans and if you could beat the Raider this weekend, you would be doing the rest of us left in the field a HUGE favor!  :)   Best of luck, thanks for all your help and congrats again!

congrats to Wheaton ...it will be great to see you in Alliance again.  Your fans have always been great, your team well coached and prepared, and your head coach is one of the finer individuals I have had the pleasure to interview...
good luck Saturday...
