Ugh! How many times a year does Wheaton get fooled by a fake punt? Is it me or does this happen at least 3 times a year? Bethel gains 20+ yards on a fake punt.

Carthage beats Hope 26-19.

Last play of the 3rd quarter was a TD by Bethel about 4-5 plays after a fake punt. Wheaton leading 23-20 going into the 4th quarter.

Long run by Gingg negated by a penalty. Now 1st and 37 after penalty, and another, and another....

After 1st and 37, a pass by Norris and long run by Gingg makes it a 4th and 7. Botched snap on the FG results in turning over on downs. Special teams not so special. Makes one understand just how good we had it the past few years.

33 yard pass, followed by a 41 yard run by Flannery has Bethel on the Wheaton 2.

Easy TD pass to Flannery with no Wheaton defender close. Bethel 26, Wheaton 23 with 6 minutes left in the game. Another missed x-pt for Bethel.

Missed extra point is huge. Wheaton can't count on the kicking game either, though. Now we'll see what this Wheaton offense is made of.

That's the 3rd missed PAT of the game, correct? I think Wheaton has missed 1 and Bethel 2. That's crazy.

Looks like a great game though.

After a promising start to the drive, Norris under throws a receiver and it's picked off at the Bethel 12. Young Wheaton D needs a 3 and out, which really hasn't happened often today.

Hopefully the victory doesn't overshadow the improvement needed by the Cruthunder.
