Very impressed with Millikin in the win over my Duhawks today.  Very impressive QB.  Totally different team than last year.

Luke Hockaday was a terrific high school quarterback at Maroa-Forsyth and a very legitimate Division I recruit.  Iowa and other "majors" were on him early and when the dust settled he had a lot of Eastern Illinois-type offers.  It sounds like EIU decided to go another direction at QB, and Hockaday wanted to play football.

Hockaday should make a big impact for Millikin this year and beyond.

New Top 25 Poll released.

Wheaton moves up to #4, North Central moves up to #12.  No other CCIW team receiving votes.

Okay, redman, what is your prediction of tomorrow's score with your Carthage at our Hope?  I'm not sure Carthage will put up 70 like they did last year, but it will be a tough game I believe even though it is a home game and the annual Community Day for Hope.

sorry I missed this post... What I woulda said is that I expect the D on both sides to be much better than last year, but would guessed Carthage 31 Hope 14 (keep in my that I am the ultimate Homer!) ... I however did not expect it to come dome to a last drive like that.  Sound like it was a great game, wish I could seen it, Damn job always getting in the way of my football watching!

HEY NORM, I LOST YOUR HAT! GO REDMEN!!!

sort of surprised more hasn't been made on the front page or in this room of the Wheaton win on sat.  Looking at the box score it was a wild game and WC won it with no time on the clock.  Bethel was in the D3 final four just 2 years ago so it wasn't like it should have been a blow out.  Nice weekend for the league other than my Vikes!

Gee... you think NCC is playing angry after last week.  Granted they are playing Benedictine, but it's 42-0 with 2 minutes left to play in the 2nd quarter.

Total yards: NCC 358, BU 24

Just returned from watching the first half....totally onesided

Also, it looks like Wenger will be redshirting this year and coming back next year...Its a big blow and hopefully the Cardinals have some players step up and fill those shoes.

It looks like the Cardinals may have another pair of big shoes to fill.
Sources indicate preseason All American defensive back Derek Sulo sustained tendon and/or ligament damage to his thumb in the Benedictine game. Unfortunately, it appears chances are good that he may also be lost for the season. Hopefully further medical examination will prove that not to be the case.

Ouch, that would be a big blow.  It's always a bit tricky with injuries, I don't want anyone to live with regret that they could have played and didn't, but then again I wouldn't want someone to suffer for the next 50+ years because they tried to play through a serious injury.  I'm sure Derek and the doctors will make the best decision for him.  Hopefully that will be the end of the injuries for the Cardinals.  I wouldn't wish a Wheaton 2007 on anyone.

No offense intended, but why does a thumb injury sideline a defensive back?  If it's an offensive skill player it's understandable, but a hand/finger injury shouldn't put a DB out for the year.  Is there more to this injury than damage to the thumb?
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

With the way NCC db's hold receivers?  Not having use of your thumb would be debilitating beyond words...   :P ::)

Hey All! Sorry for the long hiatus... things such as graduation and teaching got in the way of checking the boards as regularly as I wanted. But I'm back.  Just wanted to throw my condolences out to Wenger and Sulo, losing a season definitely sucks... especially the senior season.  Good to see that Wenger will redshirt.  If Sulo's injury is a serious as previously thought, I hope he redshirts as well.  Injury bug hits NCC...what else is new.
Looks like four in a row!
