Kind of neat to see "A. Studebaker, 2 INTs" scroll across the bottom of the screen on the Fox broadcast a few moments ago. Looks like Andy's play was a significant reason for KC's upset over Pitt. in OT today. The goal line pick and 94 yd return (which I assume set up a KC score) makes a 14 pont swing. Big impression made by Studebaker in his NFL coming out.

Chiefs win in OT. Studebaker was part of the hit that knocked rothliesberger out of the game in OT (although the other guy is the one who kneed him in the head.)

Great job Andy!

Great to see Studebaker make a difference for the Chiefs today, starting for the injured Mike Vrabel.

From ESPN.com:

QuoteLinebacker Andy Studebaker, making his first NFL start, picked off Roethlisberger's pass 2 yards deep in the end zone in the third quarter and motored to the Steelers 8 before running back Rashard Mendenhall dragged him down.

On Special Teams, it also looks like Studebaker made a key block to set up a 97-yard Kickoff Return to start the game. You can see Studebaker (#96) at 0:16 and 0:37 into the Highlight reel.

Well, I suppose it is forgivable that a running back caught him after 94 yards!

Now if anyone else had caught him ... ;D

Congrats to Studebaker.  What a debut to the starting lineup.

Great game for Studebaker today...It was really cool watching a Division 3 guy make such an impact in an NFL game.

Taking nothing away from Andy, but I assume you know that Augie's Ken Anderson was NFL MVP in 1981.  While Ken's years at Augie pre-dated d3, Andy's performance is hardly unprecedented for 'd3' guys! ;D

But I agree - it's pretty cool! :D

I am sure that Anderson was quite a player, unfortunately I had yet to grace the earth with my presence.

I was aware though   ;D

That's a great clip of studebakers INT and really shows off his speed. There were only 2 guys on that field who could catch him, holmes and mendenhall. Holmes wasn't going to catch him until the other side of midfield where Andy got a block. If he stayed on the sideline he may have scored.

Hey, at least he got caught by a local guy. Rashard Mendenhall is Skokie-born and -bred and a former Niles West standout who played his college ball at the U of I.

I was just going to say the same thing. Mendenhall has some serious speed and came out of no where to make that play.

Though USee may be correct - if he had stayed to the right, he might have been uncatchable.  Even for a local boy! ;D

Congratulations to IWU.  Great game.  Good folks and good fans.  You will find Whitewater has great facilities and their very fine fans will show early and be plenty in their parking lot tailgate.  When we played there, Wabash fans enjoyed being there with them ... even though after being great hosts in the tailgate parking area, they ironed us during the game and then had the weather try to really get to us with ice and snow on the way home.  Based upon the host expierence with both schools ... you both get A+s.

Enjoy the next round and play well.
