Titan Q

I was trying to think of the last time a CCIW player scored a touchdown in an NFL game.  I'm thinking Millikin's Jeff Query?

Query had 11 career touchdowns.  His last was November 21, 1993 (as a Bengal @ the Jets).

Is Studebaker's TD today the first for a CCIW player in 16 years?

Titan Q

More questions that come to mind...

* Is Studebaker the first Wheaton College player to score an NFL touchdown?

* What is the complete list of CCIW players to score a TD in the NFL?  Is it possible Studebaker is like the 3rd or 4th ever?

The more I think about this, the more significant it seems to become.

I am certain he is the 1st Wheaton player to score an NFL Touchdown. I know Kenny Anderson from Augie scored more than his share in the NFL. Query is right and I can't think of another in recent times??

What about Jim Jodat from Carthage?  Didn't he play with the Jets in the 70's?  I know that is not "recent times", but another CCIW player with an NFL TD.

So, we have...

* Ken Anderson (Augustana) - 217, passing + rushing (last in '86)

* Jeff Query (Millikin) - 11 (last in '93)

* Tim Jodat (Carthage) - 7 (last in '81)

* Andy Studebaker (Wheaton) - 1

Those are the only 4 I could think of.  (Minor correction that it is Jim, instead of Tim Jodat)

Wow... didn't know this one.

From his bio, it looks like he started out this collegiate career at Millikin, but finished up at Youngstown State.  How many years did he play at Millikin before transferring to Youngstown State?

Mr. Ypsi

IWU jumps to 9th in the final poll; NCC falls to #21.  Carthage (8 ) and Wheaton (5) also received votes.

With the sole exception of MUC, everyone in the final top 10 played in the North/West half of the bracket.

I was typing up the exact same message.  Mr. Ypsi beat me to it.  Congrats to IWU on a top 10 finish for the season.  That is quite an accomplishment!

Mr. Ypsi

On the CCIW/NFL TD discussion, I thought we might get one back in '67.  Steve Laub (IWU QB) was drafted by Dallas in the 8th round.  If memory serves, he made it to the final cuts and was even offered a spot on the scout team, but decided to get on with his 'other' life.  Anyone with a clearer memory?

I should also point out that Aaron Fanthorpe won the CCIW OPOY award for the 3rd time this year which was unprecedented. No player has won the award outright 3 times in a row and only Scott Tumilty was a 3 time winner (he shared it twice). There have been no 3x defensive POY's.
