I have heard the the Sulo brothers and Matt Wenger have each been granted another season.

Can anyone confirm this.  If it's true it will have a huge affect of next season.

usee

Derek Sulo and Matt Wenger would almost assuredly be granted an additional season since they were both hurt in the first 2 games. Dominic Sulo would be a shock as he was hurt early in his 6th game and he clearly was playing his 4th season. I don't see any way he could possibly be granted an additional season.

I tried to get the NCAA to have them all move on but my callse went unanswered.  :-\ ;)

There are some sports that you can't get rid of if you want to stay in the CCIW.  From the CCIW Constitution:

Section 2: Core Sports. In the men's program, every member of the Conference must play every other Conference member in football, basketball and baseball and must participate in the Conference (meet) program of at least five other sports. In the women's program, every member of the Conference must play every other Conference member in volleyball, basketball and softball and must participate in the Conference (meet) program of at least
five other sports.

You can see the entire constitution here:  http://www.cciw.org/pdf/constitution.pdf

I think a North Park supporter (or someone else) mentioned one time this is why North Park has not considered not fielding a football team.

According to CCIW insiders, the conference may lose its Pool A slot in women's golf.

I don't see why. Wheaton's dropping the sport brings the number of participating CCIW schools down to seven, and seven's the minimum number required for an automatic (Pool A) berth in the national championship tournament.

Perhaps it was a hint that someone else is planning to drop it?

Apparently not all seven remaining golf squads are counted because North Park fields an "incomplete team".  The current NPU roster lists only two golfers.

I have heard that a former Naperville North QB currently playing at the 1AA level is transferring to NCC. Any Cardinals know anything about this?

Not true. The NCAA is only concerned with how many schools in a conference sponsor a varsity sport, not with whether or not a school is able to muster enough players to qualify at a conference tournament.

The CCIW has eight* schools that sponsor women's golf. End of story.

*Some Wheaton alumni dug into their pockets last week and led the school to reconsider the decision to shut down the program.

Sounds like quite the pickup.  The Blue Streaks did only have a 3-7 record last year, but they were not blown out in any game except Mount Union.  All of their other losses, one was a 14 point deficit, and the other 5 were within 8 points.  To be that competitive in a league like the OAC would mean sure success just about anywhere else.  This could be a piece of the puzzle to get that elusive CCIW vic.

Wheaton has added back 3 of the 5 originally listed as being cut last week.  Apparently some alum "with pockets" have made some donations to re-instate men's & women's golf and men's tennis.

I also like that he was the assistant head coach at Lake Forest before that, which means that he has local recruiting experience.
