Different can be better or even worse!  Anyone know if it is likely to be better? ;)

IWU has a decent soccer team; surely a back-up soccer player would be better than any kicker they had last year.  I realize that kicking a soccer ball and kicking a football are somewhat different skills, but they are similar enough that I have no doubt either of my sons would have performed better than last year's kickers.

(Heck, I might have, and I'm 62 - but still have eligibility!)

Another freshman, linebacker Tim Hollowed, is in line to take Garvey's kickoff responsibilities. Hollowed and senior John Konovodoff are battling to see who kicks extra points and field goals.

Mr. Ypsi

Thanks, Q.  That answers WHO, but still doesn't say if they are any good. :P

I guess we'll find out pretty soon.

Millikin scrimmaged RHIT yesterday in Terre Haute.now that is a long ride. all in all i thougt the offense looked good. Solid running game and Hockaday looked fluid and in command of the offense. O line is huge and put out a solid performance. Defense had numerous picks and really only gave up 1 big play that i remember. I think the pass coverage was solid for the most part and one corner, I cant remember his number, made a spectacular pick. I am going to assume that RHIT is not on the level with the upper echelon of the CCIW, but I think the performance I saw yesterday portends of good things to come. I can't wait to see how they do in Jacksonville next week, a shorter ride for sure.

CardinalAlum-  I was wondering who voted for EC/NPU to win the conference, because I was not one them.  You beat me to the post.  I was going to post something like "Somebody has been drinking the blue Kool-Aid and it wasn't me."
Frankly, I don't know what to expect from this year's EC team.  I think it is going to boil down to execution on 3rd down that is going to make/break it for the Jays.  Furco played as well as one could expect a true Freshy last year, but inevitably he did make some mistakes.  I think we another year under his belt, he will be able to lead to this effectively.

I did see the EC/Lakeland scrimmage and like all scrimmages there were positives and some concerns.  I am waiting to see the Loras game and then make some observations of the team.

by word of mouth NPU had a solid showing vs. Alma College in scrimmage.  Offense struggled but defense had 6-7 ints!  No way to verify just scrimmage talk.

Gregory Sager

NPU's roster is up: 91 players, consisting of 14 seniors, 14 juniors, 20 sophomores, and 43 frosh. Been awhile since the Park's had 14 seniors on the team.

The varsity hosts Aurora next Saturday, the JV hosts Aurora next Sunday in their respective season openers.

Instead of a new article that is typically published every "x" days, all that was included in the primary pane of the main web page was bold text saying something to like:

"Today we must all yodel!  Every one must yodel or DIE!".

The previous poll question was replaced with something like "What do you think about yodeling?" with 6 or 7 humorous options.

Wish I would have taken a screen shot to save it.  I have seen no other mention of it on any of the other boards.  I'm trying to figure out why it seems as if I was the only one to see it.  And no... the only "drug" I take is my usual cup (or 3) of coffee in the morning to appease my caffine hook.   :-\

Mr. Ypsi

Actually, there has been mention on several boards.  Pat responded on one that it was during the change-over to PrestoSports.  Whether or not that was a deliberate 'funny' to cover the change-over, or a hack, was unclear.

Yes. And if you had reported it to me rather than to the message board that would have been very helpful in getting it cleaned up sooner.

Umm... geez, sorry Pat.  I just did a real quick check of the CCIW board with my morning coffee before running to my first meeting of the morning, before having to run my son to urgent care after a playground accident.  I really wasn't in the "I should report this mode".

Next time I will...
