Really? I just clicked on it again, and it worked for me.

I'm stumped for an explanation.

I see the new one at home and the old one at work, even after reloading the page.  Go figure.

any updates on the QB battles as we approach CCIW play?

NPU - may have settled on frosh Krebs based on offense.  Frosh QB's in the CCIW are scary!

NCC - looks as if Stanek and Crackel have both played.  Was Stanek benched?

Wheaton - looks as if they have played Meador and Roberts with success.

Carthage - are they playing 2 QB's?

Evan Jones is the starting QB and field leader for Carthage. Freshmen T.J. Trepanier has seen playing time in all three non-conference games, but specifically to run what appears to be a version of the wildcat. Although T.J. has a very strong and accurate arm he has only thrown the ball a couple of times and has carried the ball the majority of the time. I suspect this is a building process for the future as well as protecting Jones from taking more hits than necessary.

The inaugural PAC-MAC Challenge, slating western Pennsylvania teams agains eastern Pennsylvania teams in non-conference play, seemed to be a hit.

How about a CCIW-IIAC Challenge?  (We could match numbers by exempting Buena Vista on the basis of travel distance, just as the PAC exempted Thomas More.)  We could settle this conference ranking thing on the field.

That would be an interesting idea.  I also wouldn't be against CCIW v WIAC or MIAC.  Unfortunately, due to what was scheduled for non-conference this year the CCIW v MIAA or NathCon might be more of what the CCIW schools might pick.

No talk on the UWEC-NCC game in here? Since UWEC beat st johns and are ranked w ncc it has become the biggest non con game of the season. No to mention the chance to be 2-0 against a tougher conference.

I was bored and was looking at North Park and I saw that the Vikings have 2 wins this season. I was thinking when was the last time North Park won two games? Well, North Park has had the same record for the past 4 seasons (2006-2009), 1-9. So North Park has already doubled their win total from last season. Then I checked to see the last time that North Park won in the CCIW. That would be in 2000 when the Vikings defeated Elmhurst 31-21.

I must say that North Park gave our 2004 CCIW champion team the biggest scare of the season when we played the Vikings in Chicago and barely pulled out a 13-10 victory.

North Park looks much improved and I hope they can break the streak of 0 wins in the CCIW (just not against the Redmen).  :P

The Vikings started the 2005 season 3-0 with wins over Kentucky Wesleyan, Chicago, and Eureka, then went 0-7 in CCIW action.

More matblake teasers, less giving away of content.  ;D

But since you posted the predictions, any thoughts besides 'Wow?'

I haven't gone thru the non-con schedule game-by-game, but if we really go 22-2, I'm pretty sure that would be an all-time record!

But what about the preseason?  Ha!

19-2 through this week.

Kickoff not so crazy.

I've put that in ATN so many times I have it memorized. Without looking, the game is mid-October.

From www.uwwfootball.blogspot.com
"UW-Eau Claire (2-0) at North Central (2-0)
The Blugolds come into this one well rested and on a high note after defeating nationally ranked St. John's September 11th and then a bye week. Freshman sensation Joel Sweeney has rushed for 271 yards and 5 TD's in UW-EC's first two games. The Blugolds will try to ride him to control the clock and keep the ball away from high scoring North Central who averaged 49 points per game last year and 46.5 ppg this year. North Central is stepping way up in class compared to first two opponents. This game has shootout written all over it."

First big test for Rick Ponx's defense.

Thanks nccfan. This game plays into the strenght of Ncc. I would think their defense, with 12+ returning starters, is in good position to handle the Bluegold attack. If this game is a shootout I am not sure what to think as it means the cardinal defense isn't as stout as I believe they are.  UWEC plays the likes of whitewater and UWSP so won't be affected by a road game in Benedetti-Whirli Stadium against the cardinals. The bluegolds rb is the real deal and Wenger and co will have their hands full. If NCC can put a couple of scores on the board and force UWEC to catch up I would think that's a good recipe for NCC. Should be the game of the week.
