ITS GAME DAY!!

My self-imposed "go dark" period is over.  I used the time wisely to get all of the chores out of the way so that I could spend the late-morning and afternoon in the western suburbs watching a certain championship caliber football team.  It would be ideal if there were different start times at Benedetti-Wehrli and McCully, after all, it's a great day to see two (to paraphrase Mr. Cub).  Hopefully, we will see the stands at both stadiums packed with Cardinal and Thunder/Crusader fans.  This is the time of the year when I set aside (most of) my biases and cheer for all of the CCIW teams -- until, of course, NCC and WC play in Salem!!!

Pulling out the long-johns and the winter football gear.  Current temperature is 28 degrees; game time forecast is 43 degrees with wind from the NE at 12 mph.  It is CCIW football weather!!

PS -- Wow!!  I only posted one time in the past week and I lost seven Karma points.  I will take that as a strong statement that folks want me to post more often!!  ;D
No Roop, he's not referring to the Green Knights.  :D

And notice how I didn't even use my new favorite term -- "triple monkey stomp" -- in my post.

Here's a what if scenario to ponder:

If NCC is able to hold serve for 2 games and host the Regional final and Wheaton wins their first 2 games, then all we need is Linfield to beat St Thomas in the 2nd round to have 2 Regional finals within 7 miles of each other. I bet that has never happened before.

And winning them both would be super-sweet! ;D

And winning the lottery would be super-sweet too, but neither is likely to happen.  :D

This gave me a good laugh!  +K.   Good luck to both the Cards and the Thunder today!  Hoping for a big win from both and to come out of the game healthy!

The questions is which game are you going to??? Tried to find the video but I'm not that good!
Grail Knight: But choose wisely, for while the true Game will bring you life, the false Game will take it from you.

NCC and Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium with tons of fun tailgaters! Get there early! 8-) 8-) 8-)
Grail Knight: You have chosen... wisely.

or

WC? McCully ??? ??? ???
Grail Knight: He chose poorly.
Albeit will probably be the better game!

Just trying to put some fun into this. Go CCIW and rock the day!!!
PS: We always try and be at the back left of the parking lot at the bottom of the hill at NCC. Stop by.

Ok, the playoffs are here.

I don't think we will learn much more about NCC in this game.  They should win easily.  If it is difficult for them, we might learn a lot.

I think we will learn a lot about Wheaton in this game.  It is critical that the stupid penalties and the red zone futility do not continue.  Otherwise, it could be Wheaton's first playoff loss to a team other than Mt. Union.  As a poster, I really like having that stat to throw out there!  :)

Let's not overlook SNC.  They have a mobile QB who LOVES to run and will throw the ball to one of his three key targets.  NCC needs to shut down the run (QB and RB) like they have all season, and bring pressure from Hayes, Garza, Clendenning, Bulandr, and the DIII DPOY (yeah, you know who I'm talking about) against the pass.  If the Cardinals accomplish this and are able to establish their running game -- bring on the Polar Bears.  If not, it could be a four quarter game.  Don't put too much stock in the SNC v. St. Thomas final score as SNC had a couple of injuries and a slew of turnovers.  I wouldn't expect that today.  NCC needs to play like they did against the top-shelf CCIW competion.

NCC 10-1 after today. Pete Rose said so.

I would say "don't poke the Badger", but I think it is the badger who is doing the poking?  :P
