I don't think they have missed too much as Brekke, the backup, has led them to 50+ and 45+ pt performances.

the only big difference is the two QB's ability to scramble in the pocket. blanchard is great at it, and is a threat to run if nothing's there. Brekke is a pure drop back passer and can't illude pressure nearly as well as blanchard.

Most UWW fans would agree that they would rather see blanchard back, just so there's a two dimensional QB taking the snaps.

After seeing the ONU game play out the way it did one of my major concerns (other than what you all have already voiced) is NCC's ability to come out of the gates fast. It seemed that they were either too amped up or maybe even a bit nervous.

Against a team as good as UWW, one who likely won't have those same jitters, you can't afford to let your nerves get the best of you early.

Now, maybe UWW does come out TOO amped up because of the seeding issue and makes some early mistakes. If that's the case, NCC can't be fighting their own nerves, they will need to take advantage.
You win! You always do!

I would think UWW would want Blanchard in there as NCC gets after the passer and scrambling ability will be key.

As an former O-line coach, I was going to post something about line play and the styles of play that both teams employ, and how it might impact their ability to be succesful, but I realized I should just keep it to myself since I'm only a lowly radio broadcaster now and my degree in civil engineering means nothing compared to the highly educated experts on this board.

Therefore I humbly retract any and all statements I have ever made in the CCIW page and return to the OAC page with my proverbial tail tucked between my legs.

Sincerely,

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

lol... HScoach is always welcome here.  Just trying to add some leviety and reduce some pent up tension on the board.  I'll be stepping out of the way to allow those who know NCC & UWW better than I.

This week is going to go very slow..  It gives posters plenty of time to talk about the game, but the fact is NCC played UWW in 2007 and that game means very little at this point.  It will be the same talk all week.

1.) The UWW rushing attack vs the NCC rushing defense.
2.)  Can the Cardinals work the passing game against UWW who has given up an average of 324 yards in the first two playoff game?
3.)  Will Blanchard play and prove to be an X factor?
4.) Which coaching staff will make the best adjustments on the fly?

and the most important factor of all......

Which teams tailgators will put down the most cold ones before the start of the game :)
